Cleveland Cavs Discussion
The Warriors have been planning for a new arena for a couple of years now and it is supposed to be ready by 2018. It'll be in San Francisco. Yeah I've seen renders of it. Right off the Embarcadero I think, over by AT&T Park. Not a big fan of overly flashy, new stadiums/arenas. But at least it's not in another city (Oakland) and the location is pretty good without being intrusive. Golden State has played in Oakland since 1971. The new arena would move them to San Fran.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
On a neighborhood/resident level, the residents of the following areas would consider themselves (whether they like the name or not) to be part of Hingetown: Clinton Ave/Detroit Ave between 28th and 48th, and Franklin Ave between 28th and 45th. Why you ask? Because it is all the same block club. When the first ever variance or proposal came up for Hingetown, the issue was brought to the block club meeting. And every additional item from Transformer Station to the old firestation, the retail block on 29th, Mariner's Watch, Bop Stop, etc-- all of it goes to this block club when seeking neighborhood input for BOZA or Landmarks/City Planning Commission.

Cleveland City Council
From both personal experience and from what is reported in the press, has Jeff Johnson ever done anything other than grandstand? Everything this guy does only appears calculated to score himself points for a future run at the mayor's office. I'd say the exact same thing about Zack Reed--except I could never image that he'd run for mayor.

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
This building is gorgeous. I never thought it had such potential back before I first learned of the project. If there were a Most Improved Building award for any project that's been done in Cleveland over the past few decades, this would blow the competition out of the water.

Cleveland: Duck Island: Development and News
Certainly is a large project that would require many different landowners to sell their property to the developer. And what if the one remaining landowner wanted nearly a million dollars for his property...

I'm pretty sure that they are outgrowing as we speak.

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
That's pretty ridiculous that they are only proposing retail. All the major players are separately stating that the area needs more residents and that the retail is not thriving due to the lack of residential on Euclid.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Too bad the current owner is the owner. Now if the Onion wanted to do a piece on a stereotypically greedy, back-stabbing and ridiculously demanding real estate speculator...

Cleveland: Downtown: Cleveland Athletic Club Redevelopment
I wonder if we'll hear something about this building soon. The auction took place on March 9th and they had 30 days to close the sale.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
I would think that the proposed FEB office building location is real deterrent for prospective tenants. It sits just a few feet away from a very active rail line and is located at an isolated corner of downtown. This location looks as if it's better suited for a maintenance garage than for an office building.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
So if they stay at 200,000 sf, the office portion of the project is now 33% leased. That's a nice start.

Cleveland: Downtown: Progressive Field
They normally have them on at night in March. My very uneducated guess has always been to help get that grass growing.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
It does have an underground garage. The entrance is from a curb-cut on Detroit at the western-most part of the new building.

Welcome to the forum, I think you need to know the snarky comment isn't necessary. But I'll admit that his point on reading comprehension is correct.

Cleveland: Shoreway Boulevard Conversion
I forget their timeline. Is it supposed to finish up this year (the battery park to shoreway connector)? I also noticed that they've announced the next phase as the 4 "park side" town homes are listed for sale. Given the market, that seems like a small phase. Any word on what else they'll try to build and sell this year?

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
The 20 mile search area probably just lets them use downtown as a negotiating tool against the west suburban office landlords.

Cleveland State University Vikings Athletics Discussion
Since a Viking win would mean that CSU and Valpo split the season series and have identical conference records, what's the tie breaker for home court advantage in the conference tournament? Valpo has a better overall record--does that play into it at all?

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Hmm, I took a look at the petition and it appears to be is misleading. Ignatius requested permission last month to demolish 2 homes, but didn't request to demolish the church nor request to demolish the house that is prominently pictured in the petition. The pretty house with the turret is not part of the demolition request. The smaller white house next to the church is one that they want to demo. I believe that they did request to demo the church a few years ago and were denied, so they decided to mothball it. They then went ahead and renovated an old home and a separate stone building (not pictured) next to the church. The 2nd house that they want to demo (see #04 below) is adjacent to their practice field. Here's the Landmarks's agenda: http://planning.city.cleveland.oh.us/landmark/agenda/2015/01222015/index.php

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
I'm very happy to hear that they are not turning it into apartments. I would also assume that they wouldn't buy it unless they plan to be aggressive in othering packages to office tenants that will be displaced through their other conversion projects. As much as I've been excited to hear all the recent news regarding Leader, Standard, CAC, etc, I am worried that downtown will lose business that'll end up finding office space in the burbs. Very promising news.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
No. The school is no longer there and that's what has created the delay as it changed the financing. But I hear they'll be starting construction by April.

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
But at the same time, that owner is one of the last guys you'd want picking and choosing tenants and uses.

Is it the same owner--the guy whose last name begins with "Tri". If so, oh well.
