NBBJ makes it official with signed lease at 250 S. High The designer of the 315,000-square-foot apartment and office complex under construction at 250 S. High St. has signed a lease for 22,500 square feet in the 12-story property. NBBJ communications director Carl Yost just sent me an email confirming the lease that has been in the works for 10 months. Developers Kaufman Development and Daimler Group began site work for the project in late December. I'm really excited about this building. Even at 12 stories, 250 High will fill in a gap in the skyline. This building will be quite visible driving into downtown along 70E.

10TV posted a video from their video vault documenting the destruction of one of Columbus' lost treasures. From their 10tv.com: Video Vault: The Storied Past Of The Greater Columbus Convention Center COLUMBUS, Ohio - In 1965, Columbus’ Union Station was seeing little use. More than 10 years later, demolition of the 80-year-old building began. The demolition would make way for Battelle Hall, which would later become part of the Greater Columbus Convention Center, the site of this weekend’s Arnold Sports Festival. Developers have announced plans to build two new apartment complexes -- one at 250 S. High St. and another at S. High and Rich Streets -- that will add between 600 and 800 residential units to Downtown Columbus. The announcement comes as construction crews are finishing work on Highpoint, a 301 unit complex currently nearing completion next to Columbus Commons. “What's happened downtown is that more and more people have been moving down," Columbus Downtown Commission Chairman Steve Whittmann said. “We've seen the infill of some places that are fun to go, whether it's something to eat, a drink, or entertainment." What a damn shame. I'm all for new development of any kind but to destroy a beautiful historic building like the Schwind is just shameful.

250 High approved, construction to break ground in November plus an updated rendering. 250 High, the 12-story mixed use building proposed for the southeast corner of Rich and High Streets downtown, was approved by the Downtown Commission today. Brett Kaufman of Kaufman Development and Bob White, Jr. of the Daimler Group spoke of their vision for the building, and Architect AJ Montero of NBBJ presented the latest plans and materials to the commission. Small changes to the design have been made since the project was first made public three weeks ago, but the scope of the project remains the same – ground floor retail with four floors of offices in the middle, seven floors of apartments above the office and a “rooftop amenity package” with both indoor and outdoor community space at the top of the building. http://www.columbusunderground.com/250-high-approved-construction-scheduled-to-start-in-november-bw1

It's a travesty that a historic 100 year old 12 story building got demolished. SMH.

Fantastic! :clap: I've been driving by that empty lot for the last 25 years or so waiting for something, ANYTHING to go there. This is much bigger than anything I ever imagined for that little bit of real estate.

South Park isn't as good as it used to be but I still watch it. I must say though that they did do a good job on our skyline. I like it so much that I made the screen shot my desktop background.

Yes the weather was muggy and humid but for the most part it didn't rain during the game. Yeah it is impressive looking at the new tower from inside Ohio Stadium. I still wish I had a real camera because that view from my seat was amazing. Also the new HD video screen was really nice and the sound speakers were very much improved.

I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. I feel sorry for you Toledo, that rendering is horrible. What is the point of that roof?
