This wins for the most-something question ever posed on UrbanOhio (silliest? dumbest? worst?) come on clueless, didnt ur mother ever tell you if you dont have something nice or productive to say, then dont say anything at all? Sorry believeland but this question is unacceptable in the run up to opening day for this complex. Hating-on the Breuer has got to stop. It is the best example of c.1970 architecture in Cleveland and one of the best in the United States. And 1717 is not far behind in early skyscraper importance. anyway, The Breuer lives on! Youve got the wrong guy when you hope for only 'nice' posts. For years now, i've -- by and large -- only posted construction updates. If forumers (the Chatty Cathys) on this site followed your wishes, at least 50% of the comments would not be posted because much of the ridiculous banter ,arguing and personal hits/"office politics" would be off limits. rant over, off to Johnny's

Well it better be. Again, there isgoing to be a captive audience in the summer of 2016 that will need things and will want to spend and will need things and will want to spend, and did i menton they will want to spend and they will need things? ANd right now downtown... there is very little to buy

Cleveland: Downtown: John Hartness Brown Buildings / Euclid Grand
Far be from me to know the realities that the developers of the Meridien are facing, but if they had a summer 2016 completion date ...specifically in time for the 2016 RNC Conv...these 20 grand "donations" could be marketed to prospective conventioneers. they pay and they get their rooms for a week, all the food/drink etc, and even tack on future stays in the hotel. Whatever it takes to make it plausible. The 2017 completion date is a missed opportunity for the dispisable cash that's going to be flowing around in summer 2016
