Cleveland: Random Photos
At first glance, i thought your second picture was the Cinecraft Bldg on Franklin. The scaffolding recently went up on that. I was getting nervous thinking that damage from superstorm Sandy would not be addressed. This bldg is just too nice. Good thing the cornice is going back up. The damage after Sandy,

Finally is right Al has gotta be so happy. his customers, of which i am one, have had no street lighting the whole 10 yrs or so that he's been there. The previous ones didnt work since about 2000. Then they were removed , what ?, about 3 yrs ago. Then someone tripped over the prongs(?) (that remain when the lights are removed) and hurt himself/herself. Intead of putting up new streetlights pronto, the city "covered" the exposed and dangerous metal prongs with orange construction cones. For 3 years! btw, there are still many of these situations, w/out the aid of an orange cone, around downtown

Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
thousands of these contemporary dwellings (of course, with a variety of styles/heights and mult-family/single-family) could be built on the city's vacant lots, or at the locations of targeted tear-downs, and i'd be happy. it'd still only be a drop in the bucket for rebuilding the aging housing stock (no demolitions of salvageable hisotric homes tho)

Yes i definitly meant to pick examples of contemporary architecture to show how its not something all that rare in LI atually LI and tremont have a significant amount of this going on. RE LI...i think the Casa DAngelo bldg will be striking.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
the Tower has been cleaned but i dont believe that the rotunda has been, unless it was just spot checking. there is too much to do on the exterior...wouldnt cleaning be one of the last things done? Scaffolding just only today went up over the window walls
