Cleveland: Warehouse District: Development and News
Back to the Future... So glad that some of the space on ths block is reverting back to art gallery. For those who've been around this was formerly the Griffon Gallery, and for those who really been around will remember that Brenda Kroos was just down the street at the end of the block "Akron's Harris Stanton Gallery has unveiled plans to open a second location in Cleveland's Warehouse District this summer." http://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2014/05/06/akron-based-harris-stanton-art-gallery-to-open-second-location-in-clevelands-warehouse-district

I agree, the shot from Klingaling is terrific. The pic i have of the Keith et al, was taken from 18th street. That area of Euclid was closed off to all traffic (peds and vehicles) because it was the staging area for the fireworks. It was one of the best fireworks displays ive ever seen. While over there at 18th I overheard (fwiw) the demo/construction would start and that new apartment building would soon commence. And Art Falco mentioned a few times that there would be some exciting announcements in the coming weeks about the PHS area

We were there on Sunday too, it seems like we have a knack for checking out the same places on the same day, lol. I took pics, all of them from the second floor except for one. I was told that the kitchen wont be in full gear for another 2 weeks or so, when production moves there from its current location- Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
Nice video TIme to party like it's 1921! Very evident in this video was the lighting on Hanna. It is fabulous and makes the building jut out (at least, enhances that effect) into the 14th/Euclid intersection. Well done. The lighting has been updated on the Wyndham, and there are some minor accent lights on 1220 Huron and maybe some others. I havent seen any lights, or even trial lighting on the BF Keith Bldg. THat building in particular was featured on the PHS website where it referenced illumination of historical architectural elements. I dont recall seeing any workers on the outside of the Keith for a while now (last Fall?), altho I could be wrong. For some reason i remember reading (possibly on UO) that exterior lighting of the Keith could possibly be a no-go. If true, that'll be a bummer. also wanted to point out that there is hope for the Bulkley cornice (my favorite pet peeve when it comes to the PHS streetscape)... From Litt's recent article on PHS when a poster asked a question regarding the netting on the top of that building: "It is a protective barrier for the existing masonry until Playhouse Square can do a more extensive renovation. Cindi Szymanski of PlayhouseSquare just said in response to your question that there are no immediate plans to fix the problem, but it will be addressed at some point." http://www.cleveland.com/architecture/index.ssf/2014/04/the_miracle_of_clevelands_play.html Hopefully we dont have to wait a long time for the "point."- CLEVELAND - About April

The top has been dismantled to rebuild for the rooftop bar. If we're lucky, we'd get a historic repro of the cornice which has been gone for a while.
