  1. While in Cedar-Fairmount last week at lunchtime...
  2. 2 post-parade street pics
  3. Awesome shot. Looks like its from the Fifth Third Twr, or Amtrust Bldg?
  4. bad cell phone pic but the former El Guero on w. 9th is now "Camino, Taco and Tequila Bar". (not open yet) Differences inside appear to be wooden furniture and some long narrow communal tables (or looong pub tables)
  5. Thats all well and good but the city has to realize that it hurts commerce. I didnt venture much past OC and Detroit SHoreway on the westside and UC on the east. Id only drive on W 25th before sundown. Ive got a vehicle where the tire sensors go beserk with only a small decrease in air pressure. Just for that its a whole 're-initialize process.' Couldnt imagine the dashboard lights if I tanked into one of the craters at even a moderate amount of speed. Point is that I knew some people who werent driving in (for dinner, other events, etc) because of the streets. Word of mouth on this one wasnt good. City has to do better in this dept. EDIT: yes did go to E. 185th but as a passenger
  6. Coming soon a comprehensive photo thread on LW and RR, on the commercail districts and residential & parks. Try to focus on the historic aspects of these suburbs.
  7. And here I was just about to apologize for posting so many pictures! Ha! Ive felt that same sentiment for a few years now but i keep doing it
  8. Diggin that morning shot. Here's some afternoon sun on the signage.
  9. THese look great at night, (as well they should).
  10. Terrific old bridge. As much as i dont like the dated Bridge Bldg, 1980s-vintage stuff...i love the foresight and creativity in keeping part of the bridge for something unique.
  11. yeah its going up fast. a slight detour over to Constantinos today to see how the Cinematheque was progressing...
  12. How can those giant-crater potholes remain on CLifton evidently all winter without being filled?? First time on Clifton this wkd since the holidays. Quite frankly its embarassing. And regarding Clifton, I see that Torso Cleveland looks like its gone
  13. Yes. Do these renderings ever show winter and the after-effects of it? As evidenced by these pics from this wkd at Village square in Woodmere, OK prime snowbelt (downtown, the mountains of snow were enormous this year, and the grime -- to be expected, i know -- is one for the books)
  14. Veale Student Ctr getting closer to opening
  15. At the corner of Sloane and Sloane Subway, formerly the entrance to the Irish Cottage, is one end of the clifton Pointe development in Lakewood's west end. Overlooking the Rocky River An old viaduct of some sort, at the bend in Sloane Subway Across the river is RR's '11River' down the slope from The WestLake (pink bldg above) Looking back at the Bridge Bldg Driving back up to Detroit Road/Old River area, part of Clifton Pointe is seena cross the river
  16. Glad to see that gentleman yesterday was right!
  17. Ha! I think tuberculosis imediately when I hear TB. I think he wouldve been better served to stay on E.185th, a friend of mine lives up by LSB and we got food from there once. The little location there, known more as Hot Dogs and Hoagies, was fine. I walked into this new one right after they opened downtown on E. 8th and didnt stay. Speaking of e. 185th The exterior is done at The Standard with their awniings up now. lookin good https://www.facebook.com/ClevelandStandard
  18. Maybe this was posted sometime in the recent past, i dunno, but planning is afoot for a TLC on the 'Clark Corridor' Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative Clark Avenue Corridor Plan The Northeast Ohio Area Coordinating Agency awarded Tremont West $75,000 http://www.tremontwest.org/index/cms-filesystem-action?file=newsletters/february2014.pdf
  19. I know, i know another arch picture but i thought it was timely with the Irish flags out on the Osborne Bldg for St Paddys day. Even more timely (and hopefully true)...as I was taking these pics a construction worker stopped to talk to me and he said he was working on the PHS lighting projects. He said that the assembly starts tonight for the retro-signage on the top of the Cowell & Hubbard bldg, and should be done by this weekend. He also said that the Euclid Ave arches will be put up the week of MArch 24. I guess we'll know soon.
  20. So thrilled about this!, hope all of the historic elements remain
  21. You look mahvelous. Signed, the (unhappy and suffocating) Bulkley Building cornice
  22. ^Oops didnt see that I was going off their facebook page that mentions digging for a week til Mar 8 https://www.facebook.com/NearWestTheatre
  23. Not much here physically, just the beginning stages of the new Cinematheque... This, along w/ W 67th's Near West Theater, have to be the most important new-build neighborhood assets going on right now. (NWT just started digging Friday)
