Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
^I dont think that can be changed. THanks winterton for the pics. RE the last picture above. We were out walking the other night and the paper was off the newly cut door at the former "A Cafe" (windows are still papered) Looked in through the door and a man was coming down from ladder. So I got his attention Could barely made out what he was saying but it will be a restaurant. He wouldnt divulge the name but did say that it will be a place to "nourish yourself" with farm sourced and local ingredients (paraphrasing)...not necessarily organic/raw (I was thinking of a new place for Anna In The Raw - currently upstairs on E. 9th -- but, no, not that). I just hope it wont be a breakfast-and-lunch only place

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
A bit off topic... As I told lockdog in a PM, the juxtaposition of those 2 buildings is super photogenic. Walking up Euclid Ave all winter I finally got the sky I wanted at the right time of day which, in turn, gives the right lighting etc. Picture snapped. Agree that Uniion Commerce's renewal will nothing but enhance the grandness of the intersection. Now if PNC can just get some plaza enhancements to their E9-Euclid plaza. ??Like nighttime lighting, that wouldnt be so difficult More off topic... Union Commerce / Rotunda

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
It would be nice to have the small dome on the Schofield. It would literally be the icing on the cake. Be that as it may, the 9th/Euclid intersectoin should end up being the fiercest one in town.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
Last week a sidewalkshed/scaffolding went up outside the Commodore apt bldg for facade repair to the Euclid Ave side. Saturday, a man evadinng police jumped out of an 8th floor window but did not immediately perish because his fall was tempered by the Subway awning and the sidewalk shed. Bac (restaurant from Tremont) will put their eastside spot on the ground floor of this building (b/t Circle Conveinence and Subway, i've been told)

From the restuarant thread... I take it this means that work is starting at '3000' ?? http://www.cleveland.com/rentals/plaindealer/index.ssf/2013/04/renters_enjoy_ohio_citys_walkable_streets_and_growing_retail_base.html "Early plans call for its one- and two-bedroom apartments to be nestled between a first-floor coffee shop and a roof-top patio."

CLEVELAND MEET - *THIS* Saturday, November 9th - 6pm
KJP, thats all well and good but i've had plans for this wkd and next one. When i havent had plans, Ive also done spontaneous road trips or flown somewhere on a whim, not out of the country like your friend. Oops, thats wrong, Ive made on-a-whim trips to Montreal, Toronto and Quebec city . Some of my most memorable.

CLEVELAND MEET - *THIS* Saturday, November 9th - 6pm
I tried to re-arrange my schedule this weekend but to no avail. You guys are just too spontaneous , i'd have needed something 2-3 weeks out. But then that sets us up at TGiving week which could be problematic for many people. A couple to three weeks away and new places like Red Steakhouse, Orale's tequila bar, Pour Cleveland for coffee will be (should be) up and running. Drinks at Red? wow. just an fyi
