  2. ^^Yes fix the Bulkley cornice, and nix whatever it takes to make that happen. (sorry to keep beating that drum) But since I dont believe cornice repair is going to happen by May (and, perhaps, not even in the foreseeable future)...Im all in for this stuff
  3. Good to see. Thanks Johann Snapped these on the way home yesterday evening. This particular signage is definitely an upgrade fron the previous at this site and makes more of an impression from farther away.
  4. THank goodness. this Italianate across the street is also being renovated (in OC lately there are more-than-a-few renovations or residents just fixing up their homes)
  5. restoration work and cleaning on the 1010 Bldg

  8. The Small Box initiative in the WHD now has a few "gifts" for donors (although Im wondering why thats not a "2014" membership)
  9. No real news here but just an update about the new businesses occcupying now-vacant storefronts. On Prospect, Sushi 86 expansion will go in the Indigo space, and thensome. Of course, Red will fill a sizable front on Prospect. On Euclid ave, the owner of Pour Cleveland said yesterday he was looking to open in about 3 weeks. And also on Euclid, the build-out of the prepared food/takeout place...CLE (Cmon Lets Eat) has started in the old Quiznno's space. Great to see these street facing properties become active storefronts
  10. RE the discussion about the competing bar/restaurant districts, I have no problem with new areas emerging. Usually the newer areas, or the establishments within them, are a step above in terms of design standards, maybe walkability, signage and just overall environment. This raises the standards and other places for the most part cannot rest on their laurels, and languish. This may even be truer in this city and others like it, where the entertainment "pie" is always cut into smaller pieces because of population stagnation. From the renderings of the FEB II, it looks like a fun environment -- bright and walkable even though its chain haven. It'll be interesting to see
  11. Luckily I was able to walk over to Accent the few times I went. And pedestrian traffic is what the location of Accent has to have to survive, no matter what ends up in that space. Peds are in abundance throughout the day/night but they're really there for the fast-casual places and watering holes. THe vehicular access specifically at that end of Uptown is kinda bizarre and the little bit of parking is soon to be lost due to actual construction of CIA addition (as an aside: there was some utilities/upcoming sewer re-location going on behind the Mccullough Ctr last week. One of the guys back there told me the city would be issuing permits for the CIA addition after that work was completed) An old friend and I were supposed to meet this coming Thursday at Accent for dinner...not anymore. I hope they do not give up on the concept and that they set up in a smaller setting. I think it would do great. I came to this thread just thinking I would post these pics of Uptown II taken last week Behind Constantino's...First time Ive seen one of these Fisker Karmas (luxury electric vehicle)...
  12. Rendering of Red the Steakhouse's rooftop on their facebook https://www.facebook.com/RedtheSteakhouseCleveland

  14. I like how they tell it like it is... "Are you tired of walking past the same drab parking lots in the Warehouse District" http://www.crowdrise.com/smallbox/fundraiser/warehousedistrict
  15. An awfully large piece of land, and a sprawled-out short building coming to downtown's university...lost opportunity, imo.
  16. The signage and lighting changes are showing up inPHS. The new blade sign went up in the last 24 hours electronic message boards replaced on the Idea Ctr building and on the Hanna Bldg (they look great, any pics Ive taken dont do them justice) the Center for Health Affairs on Star Plaza is getting new signage Idea Ctr's enhanced nighttime lights

  22. Quote from the MAy company thread, yes the area on Prospect turns out to be a staging area for the skywalk. Are these all built this fast? these pics are from only today. Im just the messenger here, btw. Seems cheap, have there ever been any final designs produced? Re: Cleveland: May Company Building « Reply #603 on:Yesterday at 02:07:52 PM » "I believe this is for the Casino skywalk. They're building it there and then moving it into place." -mrclifton
