Late late night pics of Uptown and MOCA. It was so late night, there are no pedestrians and hardly any vehicles.

Currently going on in Tremont. A lot of pictures at dusk lately for me. Guess it's due to the earlier sunsets.

No, this Clevleand Black Dog has nothing to do with the place(s) in Vineyard Haven. It's a Cleveland independent, w/ the Newfoundland logo. Hope it does well. Great mural...more of those are always welcome downtown

Cleveland: East Side Neighborhood Development
It is not yet open. But I know what you mean. It looks much closer to opening but I suppose it could go into construction-hibernation again, prolonging the arrival of its opening even more.

Hard to believe Sammy's is opening in PHS with an opening date of October 1 (only 3-4 weeks away) as reported by Scene Magazine http://www.clevescene.com/cleveland/bites/Content?category=1520384 It was only in the overnight hours of last thursday that the moving vehicles were taking away the interior furnishings of Star. One would think that there must not be much of a change coming to the overall layout

I dont like going off-topic but Scriptz was a shoot-'em up bar and nightclub. It's not the kind of place you want a stone's throw from a newly built ALoft Hotel and other upcoming restaurants/venues/offices (aka FEB). Some of what went on... http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2009/11/2_people_were_shot_in_the_flat.html CLEVELAND, Ohio — Two Cleveland men were shot about 3:40 this morning outside Scripts Night Club, in the 1200 block of Old River Road in the Flats http://www.callandpost.com/index.php/news/metro/1890-another-violent-weekend- At 1:35 a.m., police went to University Hospitals for another man who was shot at 1204 Old River Road. Reports say Nathaniel Primous was waiting outside with a group of friends for a ride home from his girlfriend's. While waiting outside Script Night Club, he heard several gunshots and started running. That's when he fell to the ground after being shot in the foot. No other information is available with this shooting at this time. Actually, 1204 Old River Road hs a legacy of violence going on several years now. ...Anyone remember Klub Kaos? http://www.wkyc.com/news/article/46916/0/Teen-killed-in-the-Flats But it all came to an end when a near riot turned deadly in the Flats. It started at Club Kaos when a juvenile rap concert spilled out into the streets where 200, maybe 300 kids started fighting. When police tried to get the crowd under control, they found 16-year-old Anthony Gordon near West 10th and Main. He had been shot many times

I also think these hhave trhe same feel as Euclid Commmons. The difference is that the Commons are ugly, and these are not, imo. At least they're both built up to the street. Thank goodness.

Thanks! The trouble spot, known as "Scriptz", is outta here. Good riddance. A hookah lounge has taken its place. Hookah lounges are considerably more laid back than drama-queen places like Scriptz. I wonder if this means that Lucic is focusing on getting Tomo Japanese open, since the city wanted Scriptz gone. Who knows.

I dunno, this is the most god-awful thing I've seen in a long time. At E. 83rd & Carnegie... Across the street, the Fiarfax neighborhood center is much better

Thanks all for the Black Dog updates, great to hear. Per a sign on the door today: they will be closed tomorrow, but their first full opening day is Wed the 5th. And their official "grand opening" is Fri the 7th. Ha!, Strap. I had many Martha's VY Black Dog t-shirts and sweatshirts as a teen and college kid (theirs is a black Lab). Not downtown's new restaurant/bar...who doesnt love a big black fluffy Newfoundland??

^October will be a magical time in UC (I dont think that is hyperbole either). The CMA Atrium opening and MOCA's opening will both occur in October. Fantastic. ...and Accent restaurant should be open too. All with the backdrop of autumn. Wow

Was out in UC earlier tonight. Lots of energy with freshmen here at CWRU (lots, also, a couple miles away at CSU). And uptown has changed the whole equation. Took some pictures at dusk
