  1. Love this. I was going to ask which ones are the 1010 Bldg...the gutted-out place near the top? I'll just wait for the captions. If the Breuer Twr or 1010 Bldg are ever demolished...either one (or both)...it will be a travesty. Great shot of Ohio City. Hopefully this view never goes away, great shot...
  2. ^Before i got close enough to realize what this was, I thought it was an early Halloween decoration. It goes to show how tall those widows are. I would think so. As an aside... DU or a similar store would be great for down here (it was a great store for downtown but not the location...tucked in the middle of a now-established food street...needed to at least be at the corner of 4th, but I digress)
  3. Addition of bright colors to the front of MacDonald house
  4. At long last, the facade is going up at Hazel 8
  5. ^ Well, it looks like the sought-after med students/ resident M.D.s are moving in, lol...
  6. smith, Fabulous pictures of a beautiful place. I can only imagine how great the addition of the CIA and upcoming phases of UARD will be. One of the highly anticipated restaurants coming... And Panera's alleyside patio is in place
  7. Signage going up today on the front of Black Pig. Blade signs yet to come. A look up at the (elevated) back patio Nano Brew with some finishing touches Down the street this is the rear of Town Hall, iunder construction

Willoughby and the surrounding area are special. Of course Im gonna think that tho being from there. And DT Willo rocks, maybe too much, lol. I was going to do a photo thread on the town and maybe some of the extended area this fall. Maybe just put the photos here.
  9. Dig the idea of the Hansa Haus brewery... Some new signage in OC Flying Fig and The Market and Elegansia finally got a sign
  10. Some recent Facebook chatter going on... ...on Nano Brew's FB page, there is talk about a fourth brewpub opening in the Market District. ...on Mitchell's Ice Cream FB, they re-confirm how they're opening this winter. Also, Lago replacement has already been identified Say Goodbye to Lago in Tremont and Hello to... Posted by Douglas Trattner on Tue, Jul 31, 2012 at 6:08 PM "It's been just a couple days since Lago (2221 Professor Ave.) owner Fabio Salerno shuttered his six-year-old Tremont restaurant, which closed this past Saturday. But the attractive space across the street from Michael Symon's Lolita has already been spoken for. 11. Im all for the commerce too. ^For me, the suburban feel is crystallized in this new Dunham estate that we're going to get (although there are several other things). It serves up quite an irony...where are Northeast Ohio's finest Western Reserve homesteads? Gates Mills, Hudson and inner-city Cleveland :wtf: It'll be interesting to see this all morph
  12. I love the fact that commerce is taking place in a formerly forgotten area, but all of this talk of Midtown as a suburb is just wrenching. But it's here to stay. Talk about suburban...now that the 6611 Bldg is gone, the Euclid Ave. approach to the Dunham tavern makes one feel like they're driving on River Oaks Trail in the 040, or something like that.
  13. Sushi ROCK is closed for remodeling. Sign says they'll re-open Fall 2012
  14. Cleveland Hostel getting closer to opening and Campbell's signage finally up
  15. I hear ya. Actually Im digging almost that entire menu.
  16. ^Thanks, especially for the ballroom overlook
  17. Black Dog opening in 3 weeks http://www.blackdogkitchenandbar.com/2012/04/20/hello-world/
  18. We went out to eat at Cowell @ Hubbard last night and, FWIW, I asked about this and nobody kneww anything about this. Not that they should or would. But, oh well, Monday will be soon upon us...
  19. Barroco Owner Bringing New Flavor to Detroit Avenue Juan Vergara is set to open Helvetica — a design-inspired café — on Aug. 15. ByColin McEwen July 18, 2012 "The businessman who brought a popular South American street food restaurant to Madison Avenue now has another artsy idea up his sleeve. 20. Thanks! Noodlecat is great. For mac and cheese though you will want to try JB Mack on Euclid & E.21st in the heart of CSU (just opened yeserday). I called there yesterday afternoon after wanting to check it out last night but they're only open 11 AM - 2 PM their first 2 or 3 weeks. They'll definitely be open longer in time for the influx of CSU students they say.
  21. Terrific pictures. Really like this one...
  22. ^Yes a Melt in Willoughby (my hometown for all intent and purpose)...specifically in DT Willo... would've been a great fit. Other news...I did not got to the Barroco Madison Ave location for months upon months, instead I stubbornly waited for the W. 6th store to open. Finally this weekend I made it over to Birdtown Barroco. Evidently they were forced to re-design the kitchen downtown after expecting to be open by Feb or March! Staff at the Birdtown location said it'll probably be another month yet before the Warehouse District location opens. Such pleasant people and a hip place. Can't wait...
  23. Now if only W. 6th and W. 9th could get re-paved so nicely
  24. ^Thanks for the info! Some of it isnt the news I wanted to hear but I understand that hospitals/science-tech places need state-of-the-art buildings. But all of these lawns, and "green"ery, and setbacks...that's what makes my stomach turn a bit. And tearing down historic things to get there...
