  1. It looks fairly close to opening. New signage and awnings still needed. It's hard to say. Example, I've been waiting on Barroco's W. 6th location for a long time now. Well that was fast. BRGR9 opened today at lunch

  3. ^Good, keep'em coming. Another one opening soon. Im looking forward to Heck's burgers on this side of the river. http://brgr9.com/main.html
  4. Concrete barriers are now around the former Crown Plaza
  5. Circle East construction... Across Lakeview Rd, prepping for the next phase of townhomes? (http://freshwatercleveland.com/devnews/circleeasttownhomes042612.aspx)
  6. Thanks for the great shots!
  7. With the discussion mostly focused on interiors, here's an update on an exterior feature of Uptown...the Constantino's signage has been replaced with a bolder and heavier sign. Looks better. LAst week... Today...
  8. I generally thought of "downtown" Cleveland as E. 30th to W. 25th, until I realized that I was nearly alone in that thinking. Then I see Noodlecat's carry-out menu one day and its "downtown delivery zone" is E. 30th to W. 25th streets. I thought 'alright' Jonathon Sawyer is good company. Actually, many businesses/retail have an interpretation of downtown that may be different.
  9. Thanks all for the words of enthusiasm (^especially MurrayHill) Cant wait to go this weekend. Tribe will be in town and it'll be 80 degrees... will be fun downtown!
  10. 1 extra picture added
  11. Lol. It is pretty sad isn't it. Ha!
  12. Definitely. Constantino's carries pretty much everything. I shop the downtown W. 9th store but this one will be just as accessible for me since I work in the area. It reminds me of W. 9th almost exactly. Pictures from this afternoon... George Forbes...hopefully enjoying his retirement...
  13. No problem. Yes these are all of the South Bldgs (where the "Alley" will be). When I read your post early this morning, it was a 'funny you should ask' moment for me. I took the pics but I wasnt going to post them. It turns out Im glad I took them. A lot of the consstruction should be winding down by the late summer, early fall. But happily...very happily... construction should be starting across the way at CIA. I've been waiting on that one forever. Yes, I like the way they're looking.
  14. Hi cleanup! I took these end of last week, hope they help. Welcome to Cleveland! Pics follow my walk...I started on Mayfield Rd looking into the Alley, then I walked behind the high-rise Triangle bldgs, over to CIA area and looked into the Alley from the other side. Final pic of Constantino's across the street...opening today
  15. Good to hear. I havent seen it yet but I was talking to somebody yesterday and he mentioned how he only noticed E. 9th St in the movie. Safe to say... he's not an urbanite.
  16. Saw these on the way home from picking up carry-out last night. I think the aim of these is more to give that area a presence in the evening/night. Since there will ostensibly be many visitors to downtown who will not be from the area, this lighting will give TC more of a mark on W. Prospect, somewhere to walk to (that's what we want). If it gets out-of-towners and locals to walk down W. Prospect and venture into TC especially in the evening, then it's a plus. Maybe TC stores wont close so early eventually. Or does anybody know...have any stores (or restaurants there) extended their hours already? RE the aesthetics, Im 50-50 on it. One thing for sure, I. like. lights. But it's not so bad that it's like the end of the world or something.
  17. Constantino's opens this Monday (May 14)
  18. This is a little bit better reporting, Anyway, OC Weekend tour is next weekend http://www.newsnet5.com/dpp/news/local_news/cleveland_metro/cleveland-hostel-sneak-peak-to-highlight-ohio-city-home-tour
  19. Today...Tower City valet getting a makeover and festive lights stretching over W. Prospect
  20. Took this today 2012-05-11_17-48-38_218 by mmurph46, on Flickr Yeah that's the side that I didnt see yesterday but after looking at your pics and seeing all the flags earlier today...I think they have indeed been changed to bigger flags. 2 exceptions: the large pole over the main PS doors had no flag on it (I guess they;re putiing up a new larger one??) and the main W. Prospect doors still had the tiny flag flying this morning.
  21. Damn those are awesome! That first picture is nearly perfect! If only that lift wasnt in the way. Still incredible though. Same as for the picture that shows both the casino and TT. Thanks! When I took the first picture and then looked at the shot at home, I must say I was blown away by how good the portico looked. It sounds crazy but I took these in the wee hours of the morning one day this past week because other times of the day I wouldnt be able to set up the tripod and *think* about what I was doing...other times of the day and night there are just too many distractions (pedestrians and vehicles, and of course it's only going to get busier around-the-clock starting very soon). I think the lift in front is not that bad...goes with the 'work-in-progress' theme. The words 'Tower' 'City' and 'Center' always had light banks on them but I dont think they were all working the last several months or years. The lights in between the palladian? windows (on the columns) are new. Thanks!
  22. Added: View shots in front of Tower City, and a distant pic from the Flats
  23. I do not know if my eyes were playing tricks with me, but it appeared to me today that the Horseshoe flags were bigger on the Higbee Bldg (the 6 poles on the W. Prospect side, and also the 1 over the main W. Prospect entrance). I didnt see the other poles. Like I said... I'm not sure.
