  1. No, I didn't see those.
  2. The updates continue (ha yes, I do have a life, most all of these photo updates are either a short walk from work or from home). Univ Circle Courtyard Marriott
  3. There is a helluva lot of activity going on around TT/ Tower City in general...understatement. Last week the 'Tower 230' awning came down and I took a pic of these gorgeous revolving doors at Tower City's W. Prospect side. Today, there's a new awning and the arrival of a new bar. I love the investment taking place...
  4. He did say that 85 million wasn't spent on the river site just to watch weeds grow. I would say, of course, he's going to build it. By doing so, it keeps the downtown Cleveland casino in the news... as casinos and other gambling places open around the state including the not-far-away Hard Rock place in northern Summit Cty. The W. Huron, W.Prospect, Ontario district with the "Q" , phase I and phase II is sort of his to create an unbelievable entertainment district (as he's calling it... a mini-Times Square).
  5. From this past weekend
  6. And I was strolling on such a beautiful day
  7. From today, Doors off PS Tower City/PS entrance getting spiffed up
  8. Im gonna get whiplash. How do we have these two similar conversations going on in two different threads?
  9. Huh I've been in Tremont a lot lately...didnt notice that. Btw, is the term "yuppie" still used? How do you know they weren't "buppies" or "guppies"? (other useless 80s words)
  10. After something like 90 years downtown, Cleveland institution Mike the Hatter is moving. To Broadview Hts...on Broadview Rd. Evidently their lease expired and the rent has been way hiked up. IIRC, their Prospect location is part of the 668 Bldg.
  11. Constantino's Uptown opening soon... http://www.newsnet5.com/dpp/news/local_news/cleveland_metro/constantinos-market-university-circle-opening-soon
  12. 2 of Cleveland's little urban gems, on the urban gem E. 6th St, Sapporo Sushi and Teahouse Noodles both close in mid-afternoon and then re-open at dinner time for a couple hours. I highly recommend both :-)
  13. The day in the gift shop when I learned about the 9:30PM Monday night opening...this is anecdotal but some other staff there described how the first floor corner space was likely to become a restaurant, and how there would definitely be a walkway to Higbee's maybe by year's end. Again, anecdotal information.
  14. ^Thanks. Yeah this is great
  15. The gentleman at the gift shop told me that the casino opens to the public at 9:30PM on Monday night. He said that there will be non-public things going on Monday, but they are holding off 'til Monday night for the general public to lessen the possibility of a barrage of people, like there would be certainly on a weekend. ...I think I explained that like he did...
  16. Thanks, Strap It would go well with the Barbara Anne Bridal Shoppe. Seriously, I agree that that old storefront should come down ASAP. I agree...sounds good
  17. Sorry I couldnt resist snapping a couple pics of this...Everyone remember Captain Chicken where scenes for the movie "Fun Size" were filmed last summer (on Euclid Ave near CCF)? The empty space is finally getting filled...
  18. ^Wow. I've been there back at my Kent State days...a Hudson landmark definitely.
  19. The street lamps have been replaced at the main W. Prospect entrance, I can rest easy... And the marquees(?) are getting a facelift They have really been working inside the Stanley and all the glass windows have been replaced with plastic. If I was betting, I'd say they are not getting a demolition permit this coming Sunday E. 2nd street getting repaved today This is PS side, where Higbee Bldg meets the TT. Awesome message
  20. As seen from Main Ave. hill...
  21. I'm a downtown resident and am glad that they are not raising rents and I predict that to be the case for the near future... shouldnt this discussion be in The Downtown & Vicinity Residencies thread?
  22. FAbulous pictures. I already went in and supported the gift shop. Fyi, a friend with me bought a pack of cigarettes in the gift shop...$10.35. Airport prices!
  23. Yeah that's a cool sign and I like the rusty look to it. I know that there is somebody seriously considering opening a hair salon right on Detroit in the Gordon Sq area
  24. Saturday morning around the Market District The park is coming along nicely. Havent heard anything lately about the MGB rooftop patio but it'll be a great addition to the street under the PNC wall sign. My favorite pic from this walk...two of the fine Ohio City Ambassadors and a sign espousing the Market District as "prime" My least favorite...Already?! C'mon guys the park isnt even open yet and the RTA shelters aren't a month old (I dont think that the OC Ambassadors abate RTA graffiti, that's up to RTA) Still working on this building, the barber school has a cool balde sign though A walk around... Future home of Ohio City Nano Brew courtyard
