Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino
Narrowing a river for parking...FOR PARKING ?????!!!!! Excuse me while I put my eyeballs back in my head. Quite frankly I don't care about this verkakte Casino, but that's mostly because I am not into gambling. I did vote yes on it though so everyone else could, wondering now how wise that was.

Cleveland: Downtown Storefront Displays
The large "Goddess of Speed" is in Halle's storefront windows. And the flags with the script "H" are all back on the poles. I must say Halle's looks very good now especially at night.

For those that have cable TV, the U.S. television premiere of 1927's "Metropolis" is starting now on TCM. It contains 25 minutes of newly found film. It's Fritz Lang's 1927 vision of the world in 2000. dvr it

I am completely unfamiliar with those. It sounds like that's what this probably is.

Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
The triangle/flatiron building -- 1222 Prospect -- is now the Lucky Palms Cafe. Looks just opened. No sign, just painted messages on the windows like "Internet", "Coffee Cafe", "open late", "copy, fax, print" and even "free food". This is the building that was once Bottoms Up. It's on Prospect Ave. and just around the corner from the Hanna Theater.

Urban Ohio "Picture Of The Day"
In with the new...out with the old. The Central Medical Arts building on the southeastern edge of downtown is in the process of shedding its c. 1964 brutalist facade.

This Energy Drink Phenomenon
MTS I hope you had some serious tooth-whitening sessions. There's nothing worse than meeting a guy and then realizing they have terrible coffee or cola stained teeth. But I'm sure you did (have the sessions).

Cleveland Cemeteries
Photos from Woodland Cemetery last Winter. Situated between Woodland and Quincy Avenues and surrounded by Cleveland's public housing lies this time capsule-esque place. Amazing is the number of Western Reserve settlers buried here. downtown in the distance Barely legible...the top line says 'Reuben Wood', the bottom line says 'Governor of Ohio' Located on Woodland Ave and adjacent to the grounds are the Holy Trinity church and parish house (also Holy Trinity school) The old gatehouse not currently present, photo from http://www.wcfcle.org/

Cleveland Cemeteries
Great narrative. EC do you have any knowledge if they are progressing with the Gatehouse replacement?

Cleveland: Downtown Storefront Displays
How large is the 'large replica' of Goddess of Speed? That should look very cool in Halles.

Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
Won't we have 2 vacancies once the Bodies Exhibit leaves? Or maybe the Dredgers Union (or whatever that name was) is going in there.

I took a quick...very quick...glance at this tonight and it looks like a renovation project going on. Could be wrong though.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
This is not necessarily being negative... the feeling I get is a Best Buy somewhere in Sweden. It is a 'Mart' after all. I think they're emphasizing the big-box thing too much though.

Oh whatever. If I wanna meet the CDM, I'll just PM you.

Recovery 2010: The Lake Erie Cities
Only the second time in the long history of UO that somebody from Cleveland sees you out and about? btw, I would not call this a 'stalk'. This is a 'siting'. Actually it's a confluence of 2 events. You should only wish I was 'stalking' you. :-D

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
I would think that the move shows there is a new found energy in OC-Market Dist. There are so many built-in shoppers with the West Side Market and other places that generate a lot of foot traffic already. OC, specifically around W. 25th & Lorain (although I don't know where this store is going), is more evenly a "daytime" neighborhood and "nighttime" neighborhood. DS doesn't get the barrage of daytime visitors that OC gets, imo. I would think that helps retail stores. After-6PM places lend themselves more to eating&drinking. I think DS leans to an after-6 atmosphere, at least right now. An exception to this would be Professor St. and other streets in Tremont where shopping/window shopping goes on into the night.

Cleveland: Keeping its entertainment districts safe & vibrant
Wouldn't it be better to, say, get an apartment at the Hat Factory...directly above TR...and then say that? Btw I do not subscribe to the notion that if you live there then you have to *take* this.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
I am highly suspect of anything Steve Litt likes. At least for me most of what he 'digs', I end up not. (Most things, not all)
