Clark-Fulton Cleveland
Images from Clark-Fulton and vicinity, Summer 2010. While there are major holes in the urban fabric, there are a good number of original buildings that remain. It is a very diverse area, the LiveCleveland Center says it's home to Latino, African-American, Appalachian and Middle Eastern cultures. It is the center of Cleveland's Puerto Rican community. It is located south of I-90 (south of Ohio City) and west of Tremont. The intersection of W.25th & Clark. This building at the NE corner of the intersection caught fire several years ago. Instead of bulldozing the corner, a close replica was rebuilt The c. 1905 Aragon ballroom. There were plans for this but they have evidently fallen through. The expanse of Clark Ave. looking east Clark Ave. looking west Former neighborhood church, St. Procop's which served the Czech community. Recently closed by the diocese. The old St. Procop's school which now is home to educational and social services. St. Rocco's area (on Fulton Rd.) which has Italian influence. I think this was a former brewery way back. Not sure though. This building once served the Italian community. Now it serves the Puerto Rican community. The entrance to St. Rocco's church. Their festivel just took place on Labor Day weekend. The veneable Johnny's on Fulton. Probably the best old-school restaurant in town (along with Johnny's in the Warehouse Dist.) Back out to Clark Ave. The larger building was a Czech social hall at one time. The former brewery of Cleveland's famous P.O.C. Beer.

Cleveland: The Residences at 668 Euclid Avenue
It looks like the ground floor office cubicles are being torn apart in the Wyse Advertising space in 668. That's amazing...those are only, what, 5 or 6 months old? Maybe they're going to do something a little more dynamic for that prime location. It'll be interesting to see.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
^That reminds me how in the last 4 years we've lost 2 mammoth, umbrella-like Elms in UC. One stood at Adelbert & Euclid (next to the Allen Memorial Med. Library) and the other stood on the raised lawn in front of Severance Hall...just across the street. Major losses. Most likely due to disease.

Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
Yes, definitely. Except nothing for the cornice (for a few years) and that happens to be the most beautiful part of the Bulkley, IMO. The wire screen covering the cornice is falling apart and should be replaced though... hopefully with one that is more see-through.

CLEVELAND - Go Go a Whiskey
Great set! That's gotta be a close up of a black & tan. Also, that is one of the biggest "No Smoking" signs ever.

Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
It would seem this all could be settled if someone just went in the store and asked her. If I get around to it, I will.

Cleveland: Retail News
There's still Pat's On The Square next to one of the Renaissance Hotel's entrances. (Although Pat's keeps reducing the size of their brick-and-mortar store) http://www.patsonthesquareflowers.com/

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
I just wish the Aloft would be in, or nearer to, the CBD. But definitely happy to have it! BTW, as I look out my windows to the surface parking lots below...the "Parking Lot District" is just as descriptive a term for the area as "Warehouse District". It's 50% parking and it's 50% structures. Perhaps...one glorious day... the district will change from a weekend playground to a round-the-clock, 7-day-a-week urban neighborhood.

Cleveland: Asiatown: Development and News
Here are some pictures taken last month of Asian Town Center's interior. These are a couple businesses on the 1st floor. Not the best pictures but you get the idea. Part of the expansive (and mostly unfinished) 2nd floor

The fences are fine and are needed. But enough with the restaurants already. Please more stores now for Euclid, Prospect and E. 4th.

Very glad to hear this news. There hasn't been anywhere to buy anything down here since J Crew and B. Republic left Twr City. and Gap too. If I may be so crass as to say....I will be dropping cash at these 2 places. (with a smile on my face) :-D Go Downtown!!!

Recovery 2010: A New York Minute
St. Mark's Place, YES! In my NY days...waay back... after the clubs we headed to Yaffa Cafe 'til early morning. Fun times. I trust that East Village landmark is still there

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
There are many ways to answer this question (including the fact that there are comparable places here) but I'll just agree with EC: Why don't we focus more on being original and a trend/example setter

Edgewater on the rocks w/ a Whiskey chaser
Excellent photos. It's been great fun watching the boat traffic up and down the river this summer. The tug in your second-to-last picture has been making many, many trips downriver and back out to the Lake...some sort of dredging operation going on, I assume. And creative title for this thread too!
