  1. Yeah, we drove by it the other day and both my boyfriend and myself were extremely underwhelmed by the brick. Looks pretty bad, already looks like a bad 60s design. :-/
  2. I like is a LOT. I like how envelope pushing it is ... especially for CLE. This looks like something I'd expect to see in Montreal or Chicago or Austin. And the height is a HUGE bonus.
  3. Very interesting!
  4. Photo from this a.m. ...
  5. Very interesting!
  6. Also, I noticed the top of the building from the Innerbelt Bridge the other day, and from that distance, it looks like a totally new building on the skyline.
  7. Pics from yesterday ... some brick work starting to appear (pic #3).
  8. Some pics from yesterday ...
  9. Was looking through my pics of downtown from a flight a couple weeks ago and thought this one showed the plots of land and surrounding environs pretty well. Can't wait to see what this view will look like in a few years! :-)
  10. Jesse Owens, Dick Goddard and Dorothy Fuldheim! ;-)
  11. I was on the second observation level of the Burj Erieview, that new 3800-ft tower over by E 9th St. Haven't you noticed it? ;-) Seriously, I was flying into CLE from Orlando, finishing up a business trip. We had a stunning turn right over downtown and I snapped away on my iPhone. I really need to start bringing my good digital camera on trips, just in case ...
  12. Took this on Saturday night ... I'm always sort of amused by how imperfect the crosswalks look (they don't look square with each other) from far above.
  13. Had a nice late evening pass over downtown on approach to Hopkins Saturday. So here's more of an overhead view than we're used to. ;-)
  14. I've wondered (assumed?) that there would be some sort of below ground connector from the hotel to the convention center ... looks like there is one in the photos above, no?
  15. Wow, this is easily the most helpful post of the year. A-N-Y-W-A-Y ... here's the stuff I found. Enjoy.
  16. I remember that. I think it was a Courtyard by Marriott. Yes, it was a Courtyard by Marriott. I may have ancient renderings somewhere, I'll look later.
  17. Looked for the crane coming across the Innerbelt (heading northward) and it's not quite tall enough to be seen. Oh well, eventually ...
  18. The hotel pool is taking shape nicely. ;-)
  19. Just wow! Let's hope it happens and is not a "maybe we'll do this in 5 or 10 years" kind of thing. :-)
  20. I have been saying that for YEARS, and was just pointing it out to my boyfriend when we were at the Indians game Friday night. It's such a beautiful top, but no one has any clue, because it's marred by all that crap on top. :-(
  21. That is CRAZY that this is opening in 9 days! Like the fastest project ever in the CLE. :-)
  22. Is that the good Al's Deli (owned by Ghada and Al) across from the Galleria? Best place! And SO much better than the Al's Deli/Cafe/whatever it is in the Penton Media Bldg., run by angry siblings who constantly yell at their workers. ;-)
  23. Boo! Who planned this? I want to attend, but that's the day of Cleveland Pride! Sorry, can't miss that, guys.
  24. I flew over the complex a couple of hours ago and had an incredible view ... one of the few times I didn't have a window seat or I would have snapped pics. :-(
