Drove by at lunchtime today, that pile-driving equipment (or whatever it is) is right up against the river edge, so it must be bulkhead work.

I love how the west wall of Public Auditorium now looks like it had never been defiled! ;-)

Some more hints at the eventual lighting scheme. From the cam, you can see the bottom of some of those 3-story vertical spikes are lit up (right side of the building near the top). I thought they looked to be lit up today around lunchtime, but I couldn't be sure with the daylight.

Well, I think we'd ALL welcome that, but I'm trying to be realistic. ;-)

I heard something on the radio this morning that "Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill" will open a location in Pittsburgh in 2013 or 2014. I went to the restaurant website and although they have several "Coming Soon" locations, they list neither Cleveland nor Pittsburgh. That got me thinking, and I couldn't quite figure out from the news releases from lat April—is this restaurant technically part of Phase I or II? Seems like some of the other restaurants announced then were actually in the office building/hotel complex, while the ILTB&G is a freestanding structure near where the Phase II condo/apt building will be. Any idea when this particular restaurant will break ground and be completed?

I'm not wild about the top floor of the facade. Up close, it almost reminds me of aluminum siding. I think it's the horizontal nature of the panels that comprise it ... and the fact that they're individually smaller than I would have suspected.

Paul in Cleveland replied to CornerCurve's post in a topic in Northeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionNot a huge fan of the new dome concept. But it they did something between that and the kind of thing you have at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, then you might have something. Build out some of the office/apartment buildings they envision east and north of the stadium, and have the geodesic dome intersect them at top. Yeah, I know, that's wishing a LOT. http://www.evropskemesto.cz/cms/images/stories/photos_other_cities/pic12.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/1c/PotsdamerPlatz_Vogelperspektive_2004_1.jpg/330px-PotsdamerPlatz_Vogelperspektive_2004_1.jpg

Is anyone clear on what is high-tech about this fabric? I've seen it mentioned but never explained. It's probably made of the same stuff as the "world class signage" from the Avenue District. ;-)

OMG, look at the cool blue lighting on that hi-tech fabric cover thing at top! Didn't expect that. This is from the webcam; can't wait to see it in person.

From the webcam, they appear to be putting facade (the brick) on the lower western side face of the hotel. Yay!

Cladding is FINALLY going in the cut-out portion of the building today. They had one piece in at Noon and now are up to 3 of them.

Cleveland: MOCA
Yeah, I guess I've only seen the nighttime renderings, when it's really lit up from the inside. I'll happily reserve judgement until this Fall! ;-)

Drove by at lunch today to check out the glass being installed. Surprised at how reflective it is, thought it would be a little clearer. But interesting ...

Cleveland: Comic Book Hall of Fame
Good idea, surfohio ... I put the link on their FB page.

Love the new rendering. But can't get past the BS of the 380k number. That's like 2 Browns games, 3 Indians games and 6 Cavs games all sold out and being held concurrently. Imagine the rush hour issues. Not to mention where do a sizable fraction of 380k people park? LOL.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
Has anyone heard any updates on the proposed Miguel Rosales S-shaped pedestrian bridge that CWRU was considering? Rosales' website says completion 2013 (http://www.rosalespartners.com/project.php?proj=pedestrian/cwru), but I'm guessing that's just wishful thinking on his firm's part.

Cleveland: Downtown: Gateway District: Development and News
Has anyone seen any new renderings of the proposed Ontario Pointe development? I heard that they might be proposing some new parking garage/retain thing on that little triangle of land opposite Progressive Field. They had an ugly proposal 5-8 years ago that nothing ever came of ...

I agree, plus it looks like that level is a bit higher than the standard floors, which seems to jive with the top level of the building in the renderings.

I've been wondering if the core has been topped off. And I think it has. Looking at the webcam this morning, they seem to be dismantling the structure around the top of the core.

We now have GLASS (!) on the North side of the Medical Mart. Saw it on my run today at lunch, so sorry, no pics. It was hard to tell if it was more gray or blue because it was so overcast and drizzling. Looked grayish or brownish to me, but that may have been because of the weather. Looked ok. Hoping for more of a bluish cast under better conditions.

Ran by the tower during my lunchtime jog today and I have to say that the facade/skin/glass/etc. on the south side really looks great. Think I am going to LOVE this building.
