I was wondering that myself. Or is it that this was the final part of the main superstructure? Like possibly the angled topmost portions are supported by smaller metal parts that aren't installed the same way — or by the same steelworkers? Just guessing here.

Sad about Merwin's being ditched; just noticed that. As someone who doesn't drink beer, I was really looking forward to a non-brewery location.

I have some bad news on this. I had been wondering the same, and your reminder here prompted me to email the FRONT folks and ask directly. They quickly wrote me back with this response: Sadly, this project is on hold indefinitely because the building owner decided to sell the property. 😕👎

Dangit! When I first read this, I though it meant they were turning all or part of the buildings into for-sale condos. 😫

If you mean the staging area just to the west of the under-construction SW tower, no ... that land is also owned by SW and is the site of a future 2nd SW tower. That one will likely be much shorter, and no one knows if it'll happen in 3, 5, or 20 years. 😀

I went back and looked at the original docs filed with the city ... this was the first design, not the final tweaked one. So Swoop details may have changed, but at one point there was more than one hole in it. 😀🕳🕳

Agreed! I think it was shown in one of the renderings of the swoop from ages ago ... and I was wondering if the hole would actually be there once built. 👍

At least City Club is bringing back the Technicolor to this location! 🤪
