What's up with the way the windows are going in? Wouldn't you expect a section to be completed before putting in windows in another section? They are of nice colors, however.
  3. I think that if any new lines will be built, they need to go out further than they do taday. Especially the eastbound Red Line. If it continued past the current Windermere (roughly 14000 block, in East Cleveland) terminus, and went through Euclid and Willowick and into Eastlake and Mentor, then ridership would increase because more of the region is included. People would be willing to park & ride because of the convenience of stops in there neighborhoods. But since Red Line stops where it does, mose people east of East Cleveland in the NE suburbs do not consider this a transportation option. For any northwest side line, it would need to go through Rocky River and into Westlake, and the current westbound Red Line should continue into Berea.
  4. It's not that I don't agree with you, I just don't think a few days of bad weather throughout the year will be enough to change the voting majority's mind. Also -- if someone doesn't normally take public transportation (and therefore know their way around the stops), do you honestly think they'll take public transportation when the weather's bad? Another thing to remember is that unless the transit is a subway, the weather affects the rail systems and they also experience delays. It happens with the Rapid in Cleveland.
  5. I think that as long as the population trend is to move further out of the center city, light rail won't be built. The general public that lives further out want the additional lanes on the freeways, and don't want anything to do with public transportation.
  6. If it "only" cost $190 million, it would have already been built. Betcha the price would be more along the lines of $500 million.
  7. Excellent.

    Good, needed development.
  9. Willoughby has a nice downtown, as does Medina.

Your can see downtown Cleveland from downtown Chardon, about 30 miles away (just as Chardon road goes down the hill). It's especially striking at night.
  11. Aerial shots are so cool. I could stare at them for hours.
  12. I agree I'd much like to see most existing structures on the East Bank remain and be renovated. They definitely have a character that would be missed if torn down. Looking into this fix up may be coming at a good time, especially with Queen Jane trying to get gambling legalized. A casino would look pretty nice down there.
  13. The Tower City site & accompanying Scranton Peninsula development seems like the better of the 2 choices, even if it means dealing with FCE. It's also closer to the Warehouse District and Gateway District. Seems that the current site could be used for other things.
  14. Glad to see some plans like this. Wonder how well the parking garage will do. It will probably be great if you could park there, then take the rapid to the airport, and not have to pay $25 per day to have it sit at some crappy park-n-ride lot.
  15. It's about time she started doing something right. Wonder if she's pushing it now for the city or for her re-election?
  16. There's alot of activity going on there...looks like it's almost ready to open now.
  17. Sounds like good news!
  18. Is Franklin Township part of Columbus?
  19. You sure about that?? Why would it be called "City of Cincinnati" but not include all the city's neighborhoods? Why wouldn't it just be called "downtown, Over-the-Rhine and West End"?
  20. Average sales price for Cincy is impressive. It would be interesting to see a neighborhood breakdown. Like with Cleveland, some stuff (like along Edgewater) sells for $1,000,000, while in a blighted area you'd probably be happy getting $30,000.

Looks like a nice place to visit.

    charming.
  23. Could you imagine how nice it would be if the developer put that $500 million into revamping, say, lower Euclid Avenue?

The only way Hamilton County will grow is if the sprawl stops. The "experts" predict this same thing for Cuyahoga county too. In neither case will a population increase happen, when land is cheaper and more abundant a few more miles out.
