  1. I am in pharmacy school and my dream is to open a pharmacy somewhere in Cleveland. One day I was messing around on progressiveurban, and I found a place at 1870 W.25st that would be perfect. However, I am 3 years away from a degree, and thousands of dollars away from my own independent store.
  2. Here is the timeline of Phase I of construction. FACT SHEET Timeline September 2005: Zaremba, Inc. acquires 6 1/5 acres of land in downtown Cleveland, and signs a deal with the City of Cleveland to begin The Avenue District development plans. August 2006: Zaremba submits for Foundation permit to begin below-ground construction. September 2006: Zaremba breaks ground on the $250-million-plus residential development designed to revitalize the residential landscape of downtown Cleveland. September 2006: Preliminary design initiated on phase two of The Avenue District development, including 15 additional townhomes and building two. October 2006: Townhome construction set to begin. January 2007: Zaremba to submit for building one (1211 St. Clair Ave.) shell and core construction permit. March 2007: Zaremba to submit for interior build-out permit. Summer 2007: 15 townhome units are scheduled for completion. Spring 2008: Building one and attached two-level parking garage scheduled for completion.
  3. ^ I agree, leave DFAS for Wolstein. We need to keep all of our large coporations/firms etc. in the heart of downtown. I think the best case scenario would be for Baker to move into 200 Public Square, and for National City to occupy the space that Baker will vacate in NCB building. That would probably push the construction of a new building on the front-burner. On a side note, could you imagine what the downtown office landscape would be if OfficeMax would have moved into the Diamond building, and if UHHS would have moved into the Atrium?

Thanks! The exact one I was looking for was black and white, but I really like the one by Dale Gallis.

I have seen various pictures that are cartoon drawings of "famous" landmarks of certain cities. For example a Cleveland picture would have the TT, Key Tower, Jacobs Field, and Browns Stadium.I was wondering if anyone knows what the hell I am talking about, and if anyone knows where I could purchase them? Sorry for being so vague, and thanks for any info.
  6. I haven't even told my girlfriend about this site. She just wouldn't get it.
  7. Good to hear that this building is progressing nicely. Does anyone know if Stonebridge has a website, or is info only available through progressiveurban.com?
  8. Looks like 23 lofts/penthouses and 6 townhouses have sold already. http://www.theavenuedistrict.com/newlayout/housing/pricing.asp http://www.theavenuedistrict.com/newlayout/housing/townhome-pricing.asp
  9. Good point. I only care about the Cavaliers when they are good. On the other hand I will watch every Browns game and Indians game I can. Don't even get me started on Findlay's Steeler "fans".
  10. From The Courier Contract authorizes 28-acre soil study By JOHN GRABER STAFF WRITER The next step in converting an old tire dump and a landfill northwest of downtown Findlay into "The Findlay Towne Center" development will be finding out just how dirty the soil is on the property. 11. ^ Thanks for posting the video! It is great to see that so much is planned in Cleveland. On a side note it seems strange that a lot of people are talking about the condo's on top of the 515 garage except for the developers. I would really like to know where this project stands.

  13. At first I was worried that the 400 housing units would saturate the market, but I believe that the University of Findlay is going to have a lot of students living in this development. Just yesterday, the University said that they were going to convert some offices to student housing due to increased demand. Also, it says in the article that this project will only cost the city $300K...........I guess we will wait and see.
  14. Looks like this might happen! From The Courier Plans move ahead for Brandman development By MICHELLE REITER STAFF WRITER Findlay Mayor Tony Iriti's plan to transform the old Brandman tire dump is back on track. Findlay City Council voted 8-1 Tuesday night to authorize the city to enter into a pre-development agreement with Shaw Environmental Solutions and Koll Development Co. Contact Staff Writer Michelle Reiter at: (419) 427-8497 [email protected] http://www.thecourier.com/Issues/2006/Aug/ar_news_080206.asp#story2 However, start of construction 3-4 years down the road? WTF? :wtf:
  15. I was pleased to see in the CBRE report that Forest City is going to bring back the Higbee building in phases. Not sure what that means but it is good to see that they are starting to do something.
  16. They have not put any renderings in the paper. There has not been any news of attracting a pro team. If they were trying to attract an A-ball team I would fully support the stadium. Not to get off topic, but I think Findlay would be a great location for a minor league team (atleast better then Eastlake).
  17. I am actually glad that the mayor does not want to move to quickly on this project. To add 400 for-sale housing units to the Findlay market is just too much. I am a student at the University of Findlay, and I received an e-mail from University officials and they were wondering if students would be interested in living in this development. They should scale down the housing to maybe 250, and hope that 200 units would be rented to students and the other 50 would be sold to families. They should also scrap the baseball stadium, this city has absolutely no use for it, and other very nice baseball diamonds can be found throughout the city.
  18. In this months properties magazine, PURE had an ad that said 10 of the units for Phase V have been sold.
  19. Or the Softball Hall-of-Fame that is right next door!

A big brother faces loss with inestimable pain Friday, May 12, 2006 Bud Shaw Plain Dealer Columnist Larry Hughes got the tattoo his senior year in high school while his younger brother, Justin, faced a heart transplant. The choice might seem morbid but the intention was just the opposite. Hughes chose the Grim Reaper as a reminder that time with his brother was a gift, that life carried no guarantees. ^ He wasn't shot. I heard he had a heart transplant and that he wasn't doing well lately. I am not the biggest Hughes fan, but I really feel for the guy and his entire family.
  23. I think it would be cool if they used this name and made it the most environmentally friendly building in the region. It would kind of show that we are making up for our past mistakes.
