Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway: Battery Park
There's a pretty updated plan in the Park Place Standards PDF they have under townhomes, including scales of the buildings between 69th and 70th. Boy those townhomes north of Park Place are REALLY close to the tracks... I'm surprised they can actually build on that parcel considering that deep sewer line that was relocated for the 73rd interchange project. Its funny how much the site plan for BP has evolved over the last 5 yrs or so

....hmm... sounds strangely familiar...

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway: Battery Park
I'm curious about this 5-story building with a pool. No updated site plan on the BatteryPark website but the website does look nice. Can't believe how much stuff is selling for out there. http://batteryparkcleveland.com/

ding ding! You folks are being jerks. Apartments & condo towers built 40 years ago on the Gold Coast of eastern Lakewood all had pools... It's an amenity plain & simple. Quit bein haters

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
Commitments from national retailers doesn't mean a thing. Probably a non binding letter of intent. Plenty of "outs" for both parties

Cleveland: Warehouse District: Development and News
I'm saddened that the public works dept continue to cut holes in w6 & w9. Just last year it got a fresh pave And stripe job. Now 9th is cut open again in a new area, probably 4th time in 3 months

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
And the parking lot it was slated to be built on has been for sale for YEARS.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
Not to be a Debbie downer but there was a sign up at Flats East Bank back in 2008... Coming in 2009. Also, how many of you remember the failed Marous Development "District Park" on West 9th in early 2000's... They had a website, leasig office, taking deposits, etc

My sources are chief brokers in commercial real estate downtown and executives at Walsh construction.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
i heard it's not going to happen, at least not this year. The hotel market is already getting soft in Cleveland after the flurry of hotels that were added recently and the office component is extremely aggressive. Flats East Bank will be adding a 3rd phase sooner than Nucleus will be ready and Pinecrest will be ready as well - 2 nice new office developments competing for tenants.

NFL: General News & Discussion
That did seem odd. He doesn't look like a Budweiser guy to me but i guess it's better than "I'm going to Disney world!"

Governor John Kasich
Kasich is benefiting from the others attacking each other. As soon as he finishes in the top 3, the spotlight will shine a little more brightly on him and it'll show a few more of his warts and air a little dirty laundry. I want to puke every time he touts his efforts to slash the budget deficit in Ohio... all he did was slash local spending. Voila! Even wealthy districts across the state are reeling from the cuts

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
Does the building not have security cameras at entrances or hallways? Can't believe they don't have a description of individuals or a car plate or something...

Cleveland Browns Discussion
This is becoming a really sad story. His family is publicly begging him to get help. Nbc nightly news covered it...

Cleveland: Income Tax Increse
Of course it would, you're forgetting about all of the employees and operations that can't or won't leave the city, and other events held in the city that would never be held in the suburbs. Many things happen within the city limits that would never, ever happen anywhere else the region. Museums, sports, government institutions, etc., etc. Forget steel mills and ports, the Cavs aren't moving to Beachwood, Federal offices aren't moving to Beachwood, courts aren't moving to Beachwood, the Cleveland Museum of Art isn't moving to Beachwood. Make it painful, make it scorched Earth, make it a civil war. Cleveland or nothing. Museums, sports, govt institutions Sports- ever been to a Detroit Pistons game at Auburn Hills? It's really freakin nice What govt institutions are you referring to? The Justice Center???

Cleveland: Income Tax Increse
^LOL

Cleveland: Income Tax Increse
that would never work. Cleveland is not a strong enough economic driver. Nothing exists in the city that cannot be duplicated or relocated in the suburbs of Beachwood/Westlake, etc. The suggestions you made would only accelerate the decline EDIT - the only exceptions possibly would be steel mills & the port operations, but even nickle & diming those operations would probably drive them elsewhere

Cleveland: Mayor Frank Jackson
Building department is the worst. They openly laugh in your face if you ask for an update on a plan review/building permit. I have coworkers and clients ask all the time why Cleveland is like this. Other cities do not operate like this. Needs a total culture change.

Hey CBUS, what brings you up to CLE, and vice versa?
I have a ton of friends from college that moved to Columbus or stayed there after graduating from OSU. I'm the lone Clevelander. I go down there to visit for OSU football games in the fall and otherwise visit friends but everyone has kids and lives in the burbs now so we don't spend much time downtown. They come up here and I take them on a bar crawl around Ohio City or Gordon Square and the love it. Everyone comments how different/gritty Cleveland is with the industrial vibe, railroads, old factories still lurking... none of that in Columbus

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
It is exactly a high density culdesac. Precisely what it was designed to be. Now talk to any retail experts and they'll tell you you need about demographics in the thousands to support real retail. BP will never be there.
-
Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
the units in the picture are limited on how the street/access could be oriented. They did their best to build on an awkward parcel beside the tracks and this is what the end result was. Keep in mind there is huge sewer line right behind this so they cannot build on top of that

Cincinnati Bengals Discussion
Steelers' Antonio Brown ruled out for this week's playoff game at Denver. I guess he wasn't faking. This kills whatever chance of Burfict's appeal, NFL will not reduce his 3 game suspension now that Brown is missing this game
-
Cincinnati Bengals Discussion
OKC could become a market for NFL. Memphis also perhaps. Texas & Florida already have multiple teams so it probably doesn't make sense to add another even though they have several major growing cities.

Cincinnati Bengals Discussion
No, he shouldn't. The 3 game suspension is due to prior infractions, not just the 1 hit. How many times has Shazier been fined this season??? Was Gio a defenseless receiver? No, he was a ball carrier...
