The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
So you think a team like Alabama or Clemson losing could mean two Big Ten teams in the playoff?

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
I meant no way they jump the winner. If it's msu, they beat OSU. If it's iowa, they are undefeated Conf champs.

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
I love the analysis and optimism but there's no way they jump either Iowa or MSU after whichever team wins big ten title game

Osu totally demolished Michigan today. Read coverage on free press.com. Aside from that, Spartans are handling Penn State. This is their year.

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
Looking forward to the game today. Hoping OSU can bounce back and find a way to win. Trevor Matich said Michigan is the better team but OSU is more talented. I think most would agree with that. I also watched Iowa yesterday. They are a very complete team. Offense is crisp and efficient. Defense is fast and disciplined. Well coached, capitalized on mistakes. They will give whomever they face a run in the Big 10 championship game.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Looks cool. Too bad those crappy old low rise warehouses are still standing. Thought those were supposed to be demo'd two years ago. Pretty sure Vintage owns them now, must just be sitting on them waiting for "economic development" money from City Council to tear me down and build

Suburban Sprawl News & Discussion
I'm definitely anti sprawl but when people flee the city for the far flung suburbs, they may mention "noise & traffic", but they are also fleeing failing schools, crime, declining home values and lousy city services. I get that this fleeing only advances the hollowing out of the cities but I also see how cities often fail at stemming the tide of this exodus. City leadership needs to look hard at what they can do to retain residents & attract new. I think Cleveland finally gets that now but only about 20 - 30 yrs later than they should have.

that game totally sucked but you have to give credit to Sparties and Dantonio for coming in to OSU and playing a tight game. I think a blind person could see the play calling is horrendous. Way too much gimmicks. Stick with off-tackle run-read options and some quick passes, with a few shots over the top. JT was way out of sync, couldn't seem to find his open receivers or throw them open the way he's done in other games. They need to get it together this week big time, Michigan is getting better every week. As far as Zeke's post game comments, I think everyone agrees with his frustration but he's now created a distraction by announcing he's leaving with a couple games yet to play. No surprise he's leaving for the NFL of course but he's tarnished what's been a great career otherwise.

Gas Prices
We've only just scratched the surface on fracking. Technology and extraction efficiency is getting better all the time. In other news I filled up innckeveland for $1.75/gal today. Boom!

Cleveland: Campus District
why would they do a listing if he was just buying out a family member? For what it's worth, Central Cadillac does pretty damn well, in spite of that location. It's not like they would be closing and I can't imagine another location they could find in the city...

Cleveland: Shoreway Boulevard Conversion
I'm interested to see how far over the initial budget these projects are. The two reconfigured pedestrian tunnels at 76th & Lake Road, the big 73rd interchange and now this latest boulevard project. I'm sure it's way over but I also think it's much more elaborate than was initially planned. I will say that 73rd reconstruction all the way up to Detroit needs to be a part of this project. That street was shot before the interchange ever began and now it will see 10x as much traffic. Needs a lot more than a repaving too. Needs entirely updated with sidewalks, lighting, trees, cross walks, etc

Orange Village: Pinecrest
they talked about that. The residents didn't want it. The only way the development was approved was to build the huge wall of dirt. Which by the way added some $4 million to the project which is how the DiGernonimo's of Independence Excavating became involved in the project

November 2015: Ohio Issues 2 and 3 (Monopolies/Marijuana)
agreed. but it will be back on the ballot again soon enough, hopefully as a better piece of legislation

November 2015: Ohio Issues 2 and 3 (Monopolies/Marijuana)
so most people are voting "YES" on issue 2 which stops monopolies from being written into the state constitution? and if issue 2 & 3 pass, it will likely go to Supreme Court to sort out? Just trying to get the abbreviated version here...

NFL: General News & Discussion
Cardinals looked damn good last night, very strong on all phases of the game. Can't believe Jets are ahead of Bengals. How are the Colts in the top 10? They are terrible. Rams are much better than #19.

November 2015: Ohio Issues 2 and 3 (Monopolies/Marijuana)
High Times online has quite a bit of writings on the matter. I think they endorsed Issue 3 but with heavy reservations about the way it was written. Go to their website & search for "ohio" and quite a few articles come up. Link to one below http://www.hightimes.com/read/irresponsibleohio-group-aims-monopolize-legal-marijuana-market

November 2015: Ohio Issues 2 and 3 (Monopolies/Marijuana)
It's because we have very few leaders in the legislature. They are either 1. deathly afraid of the political consequences for supporting marijuana or 2. completely beholden to major corporate interests or 3. both. A few gutsy pols have been pushing reform for years and these bills simply die year after year. I figured as much. Nobody wants to go on record as voting for marijuana reform in Ohio, but if the residents pass it, great.

November 2015: Ohio Issues 2 and 3 (Monopolies/Marijuana)
It is a monopoly. If you read the fine print, you can see who the 10 growers are. In NE ohio, it's Bobby George. Douchebag bar operator & son of Tony George. They have already gone on record projecting what the revenue would be, amount sold, taxes, etc. They will control the price & supply. That's a monopoly.

November 2015: Ohio Issues 2 and 3 (Monopolies/Marijuana)
I'm generally in favor of marijuana reform but I think this is a bad way to go about it. Probably already mentioned elsewhere in this thread but I hate the way they are doing this by modifying the state constitution. Why not just create a bill and have it voted on the way normal state legislation works?

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
Offense had a nice crisp rhythm that has been lacking in previous games. JT was putting the ball where just his receivers could make the play on it. Cardale always seemed to be forcing it or not throwing unless guys were wide open.

Suburban Sprawl News & Discussion
This article misses the point on how badly these inner ring suburbs need to embrace regionalism to survive. Combine maple heights, Garfield heights, Bedford heights etc. shared emergency services, shared tax base etc. it's the only way

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
^great point about Houston, cannot underestimate the loss of former offensive coordinator. Directly tied to the offensive sputtering we've seen so far in my opinion
-
The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
The offense looked so much better last night with JT as QB. Faster, better rhythm, more aggressive, taking it to the defense rather than trying to find an open man
-
The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
Another weak start with OSU playing down to its opponents. 21-21 and OSU just punted. Receivers either can't get open it Cardale can't find them. Defense giving up steady drives. Seems succeptibke to big plays
