  1. I remember a time when a new hotel on w25 would have been considered a game-changer lol. I don't mind this approach. ground-floor retail. structured parking on floors that are blocked by the bridge. 150 apts and 100 hotel rooms. I don't like this gray brick phase that we're in, design-wise, and I think the top floor needs some work, but it interacts well with the other buildings across 25th and down the viaduct.
  2. isn't it kinda crazy that you really can only see the pavilion from public square if you are sanding directly across the street from it
  3. not that the business is particularly healthy, but this would be one of the good opportunities if playhouse square wanted a multi-screen movie theatre. could serve as an anchor to a larger development and feed off csu's potential growth
  4. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/international-business/article-us-steel-allows-cleveland-cliffs-to-participate-in-its-sale-process/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter U.S. Steel allows Cleveland-Cliffs to participate in its sale process, source says GREG ROUMELIOTIS REUTERS U.S. Steel Corp has allowed Cleveland-Cliffs to participate in its sale process after agreeing to the terms of a nondisclosure agreement (NDA), a person familiar with the matter said on Thursday. Reuters reported last week that a disagreement over the NDA had kept Cliffs out of a bidding process that U.S. Steel announced on Aug. 13. U.S. Steel had failed to convince Cliffs to sign a six-month standstill agreement that would prevent the latter from challenging U.S. Steel’s board of directors. Cliffs and U.S. Steel have now agreed to an NDA that comes with a two-month standstill, the source said. Reuters has reported that Cliffs has secured bank financing for its bid that is not subject to due diligence. Signing the NDA, however, will give Cliffs, whose previous $7.1-billion cash-and-stock offer for U.S. Steel was rebuffed, visibility into the bidding process
  5. the projector on the lumen garage was supposed to be that. turned out to be relatively unsuccessful because playhouse square is much too bright. the garage should be a screen or a banner if the want to advertise shows on it.
  6. I forget if this was discussed, but is e9 and prospect an option for the courthouse? would be a cross from the county hq - they could build a new garage to share the resource
  7. cockys is probably good. maybe punchbowl
  8. whenever I walk by the sterling building (13th and euclid) I wish someone would tear it down and build a 20 storey thing there
  9. hoping for the best
  10. me too
  11. yea seems like they really stretched to meet the criteria
  12. Van Aken District had to be one of the most significant tod projects in the country rn. theyre building a multi-block, dense downtown for shaker hts from scratch.
  13. I agree. also, there isn't enough demand on nights and weekends to justify enforcement/raising prices, imo. it'll just make fewer people come downtown. if the city wants to make money on cars, they should ticket double parking on streets like e9 and euclid ave and ticket people parking in no parking zones.
  14. Jackson's administration pronounced lakefront plans too. the bike lane plans have been ongoing for years jackson turned edgewater over to the metroparks and got the towpath thru. the riverfront plan was announced by jackson. flats east bank/ey tower and sherwin williams hq were negotiated by the jackson admin Why do people need to pretend that jacksons administration was an abject failure?
  15. I don't think Bulkley Building is a playhouse square inc project
  16. 925 would be a good option if they choose to renovate. wonder if there are other county office that could be consolidated there
  17. it's also pretty superficial in its presentation. they're more interested as rock as a cultural phenomenon rather than rock as a form of artistic expression. also a conspicuous lack of Dylan in their exhibit. I'm not convinced their leadership runs a great museum, but I'm happy to see them continue to invest in the project and I'm glad they partner with tri-c for their archives. it's also tough because the building was clearly not designed with function/flow as a priority and the rock hall is always trying to figure out how to use the space.
  18. agree, especially if csu develops north between chester and payne like they want to.
  19. "George said the sportsbook will be part of a new entertainment concept and will open within a year. The Harry Buffalo will move to a new space downtown, he said"
  20. guy with the data says you're full of s**t and your argument is 'I perceive it to be true, so it is' Find me one shred of evidence that downtown is losing population
  21. sign out front says coming in 2024
  22. I doubt it. golf simulators are on the back end of a fad. it's like opening an escape room or axe throwing place today. out-dated concept that's poorly executed. announced an opening 2 years before they started operations, decals of random shapes blocking the windows and no sign of life from the outside.
  23. landscaped medians on the road and a 25 mph limit would help
  24. hate to say that this concept gets a little more diminished and disappointing with every update. this got scaled from a three storey bar to one floor with a banquet room upstairs. hope all is going well tho.
