being absorbed into cleveland isn't a clean slate. cleveland has trouble managing its own blighted streets. a mass demo project like what is being proposed would have to be a federal thing to be done quickly

Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque director John Ewing announces retirement Story HERE By: Joey Morona, cleveland.com CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque is one of the city’s great cultural treasures. Nowhere else can you see “Thelma & Louise” in dazzling 4K and Billy Wilder’s “The Spirit of St. Louis” in its original 35mm format one week, and then Wes Anderson’s underappreciated “Asteroid City” and the Cleveland premiere of “The Beasts,” the 2023 Best Picture winner at Spain’s Goya Awards, the next week For nearly four decades, John Ewing has been the driving force behind the Cinematheque. But this will be his last full year as its director. On Friday, Ewing announced his retirement effective June 30, 2024. “It’s something I wrestled with,” he told cleveland.com. “I actually thought I might do it in June of this year, but it didn’t quite feel right. The Cinematheque was still trying to rebound from the pandemic. But our numbers are back up. We’re pretty close to pre-pandemic levels. So, I feel like I’m leaving at a pretty good time when the organization isn’t limping.” Ewing, 72, said health considerations played a role in the decision, too. He would also like to spend more time with his two young grandchildren, who recently moved to the area. “There are other things I can be doing,” he said. “But it’s hard. It’s like I’ve raised a child, which is now age 37. It’s time to see if they can walk on their own.”

Who knows. if they only need like 15 floors, it may be worth gradually taking over 200 PS.
-
Cleveland: Cleveland-Cliffs
I think they just have several floors of the building like cliffs does with 200 PS

it may sit on the market for a few years, but I think someone is going to buy the Hyland campus, demo it and build new housing. it's a rich suburb where there is high-end housing demand.- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
it would be less complicated than other sites downtown. a large plot of land, mostly publicly owned. CSU is looking to unload the arena site. It would also give CSU an opportunity to use it for their own athletic program and have it basically be on campus- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
they're also rerouting cedar as a part of the e22nd "landbridge" if you wanted to get weird with it, you could vacate Carnegie between 18 and 22nd and orient the stadium North to South.- Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
why are they starting regular waterfront service next summer and not in October?- Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
how could it 'easily be filled? I think the water is kept at that depth because of the active port right next to it- Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News

I like the idea of the Bluffs park and the bridge is becoming refined in a positive way. I think the bridge should be as slender as they can make it. one critique is I think the beach concept is misguided. its trying to cram a little bit of everyone's ideas into one project, but it won't be large enough to really work. I'd like to see some large shade trees and landscaping that is less ornamental. This would really work well too if they were anchored by another family-friendly museum/entertainment-type thing there. bummer the aquarium is across the river- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
it would be big if they did and I think Ken offered some insight into it in a couple of his articles. I don't think we have any evidence either way to speculate tho- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
I hope the county wouldn't subsidize a move away from cleveland and these suburban cities don't try to poach the team. I don't think the browns risk losing viewership/fan support if they leave the city, but they do if they left the county.- Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
I'm hoping for a site west of Ontario. Tho CSU just issued an RFQ for a new arena- Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
