Cleveland: Ohio City: Irishtown Bend Park
Maybe the Port had a strong case. but the George argument would be it is a money-generating property and the park can exist without that parcel. You could also cast doubt on the stability study as being politically motivated - saying a 60 year old building that hasn't moved an inch since it was built is going to cause a landslide and this only becoming an issue once the city has designs to use the hillside for something. The failure was in not securing the property from the start. George, as disliked as he may be, bought it fair-and-square.

The deal makes sense. I think the case for eminent domain was pretty weak.

think they remove elevator bays as the tower gets taller

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
went there last weekend and they were pretty busy

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
I think that wat two iterations ago when they were looking at different pedestrian bridge designs from the malls. that last iteration was similar to this, just uglier

Cleveland: Random Development and News
there is another point, not really for this thread, but clevelands property taxes are very high and get poor services for the premium. another thing to consider is as some of these 20 yer abatements are expiring - when a house valued at 400k loses its abatement, it becomes immediately less marketable. because the tax burden will jump 10k a year.

yea, we left after the postponement

the problem is they use the same rationale for every building they've ever built

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
I guess. there has been a stadium at that site for a hundred years

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
if they built a stadium at e13, they could build a new amtrak/rta station at e12 with a walkway over the tracks. serve as access from the muni lot, too

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
I think I remember having a cleveland monopoly game in the 90s. could that be right?

State of Ohio Hates Its Big Cities
someone was complaining about truck access during the presentation to the planning commission. If my theory is right, i would guess Dependable Painting Company is behind this. The owners are in Strongsville, the warehouse can only accept trucks from superior ave. 4403 superior. pure baseless speculation tho

I actually don't like B&O as a station. Thinking as a tourist staying downtown - I'd like access to the train station from downtown without having to find it in the flats - plus, it'd add an additional quarter mile walk from any of the hotels. But i don't feel that strongly about it.

State of Ohio Hates Its Big Cities
His district goes all the way to the north to the lake (including Rocky River) I wrote his office a note pretty much saying that someone who doesn't live in, work in, or represent the City of Cleveland is trying leverage state power to micro-manage municipal policy on a project that has been approved by the stakeholders and is mostly federally funded. This seems like someone who owns one of the businesses on superior is influencing him. Why else would he care?

suburban cleveland rep introduced this provision according to the cleveland.com article

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
I think the layout of the jack is perfect for sportsbetting and table games. a new build could be a better experience for slots players. It could also incorporate dining and shows

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
i think it'd be hard to argue that two different brands with two different owners would still qualify as one facility
-
Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
This building will look impressive when its done. it already has great street presence and its only half done
-
Cleveland: University Circle: Cleveland Clinic Developments
I'm glad both committees were willing to voice these concerns. its an interesting tension between creating a research building and being inclusive to the neighborhood. Clinic has done a lot of talking about that, but this design didn't demonstrate that commitment

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
seems like we could have a Elyria, lakefront, eastlake/mentor service pretty easily if there was interest.

Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
the station would make a cool movie theatre. I really think playhouse square should try to have a movie house somewhere (one screen or megaplex). it'd be benefitted by the film fest
