  1. the scope of this project is not just the frontage on public square. w6 and St Clair is not on public Square and is a part of the development. the planning commission was pretty much just asking them to put some seats along St Clair or w6. there ia going to be like 1500 feet of continuous space on superior/w6/st Clair that are just iron fence in front of a parking lot.
  2. that's fine, but it still needs to pass the planning commission. it didn't pass last time and Sherwin didn't address the commissions concerns.
  3. I'd be surprised if they approved this. benches and the sidewalk interactions along w6 were their biggest concerns and shw didn't even address either
  4. I think theyll be by topgolf. 10 mim from downtown is not really the edge of suburbia
  5. if they get rid of 2, I'm starting to question the wisdom of "landbridge" without the 2 exits and flyover, they could build new overpasses on w3 and e9 tobmake them really walkable without needing to build a massive concrete structure from the malls. even if they built the multi modal station, the could build it like a T that connects to w3,e9,mall c I want the study to look at places of origin for people walking down to the lakefront. w3 and e9 may be the preferred routes anyway.
  6. idk, both games demonstrated defensive vulnerability that might be an issue all year
  7. not a lawyer, but I thought people serving a year or less (misdemeanors) serve their sentence in county - Prisons are for felons being processed through the state.
  8. maybe that link they're planning on euclid by 55th. or Opportunity Corridor?
  9. also - not mentioned too often. Why do we need this to bring our convention center to 'the middle of the pack'. It is less than ten years old. David Gilbert is throwing a lot of his credibility behind this proposal.
  10. they said that they're planning to facilitate development on st Clair and w6
  11. 60% of the SHW site is slated to be parking in the near term. hopefully they make good on their future development promises.
  12. they lost credibility with me after the Sabathia and Lee trades. Lee had multiple years left on his contract. it took years for me to take them seriously again
  13. I thought the were losing money every day they stayed in the justice center. now they're delaying 4 months with no explanation besides 'due diligence'
  14. that's further west on superior
  15. I always thought a cinimateque type theatre would be so cool. but also (since tower city closed) a multiscreen megaplex with housing over it on the SE corner of prospect and E14th. close to campus, downtown residential is getting bigger, use for film fest
  16. that where the elevator column is?
  17. I thought that was the trees and streetscape stuff
  18. Who do we need to contact about this Skywalk? is it just a planning commission thing? From cleveland.com: Cuyahoga County Council advancing plans to renovate Global Center, even as project’s cost increases Published: Aug. 02, 2022, 6:56 p.m. story CLEVELAND, Ohio – The total cost of proposed improvements to the Global Center for Health Innovation grew from $46 million to $54 million on Tuesday, but Cuyahoga County Council is limiting its contribution to $40.4 million, for now. The county’s contribution includes $31 million in debt to cover the bulk of renovations meant to officially merge the Global Center with the attached convention center. It also includes $9.4 million in cash – the $5 million council previously pledged from stimulus funds, $3 million from the general fund to cover the cost of inflation since the project was first proposed, and $1.4 million accumulated through naming rights on the facility. Another $9 million will come from the Cuyahoga County Convention Facilities Development Corporation’s reserves, though as one councilmember pointed out, the fund is entirely supported by the county through annual payments to the governing board. Left out of funding was about $5 million to build a skywalk connecting the convention center to the Marriott hotel at Key Tower, which the majority of council members seemed to favor, but not entirely on the county’s dime. Members wanted to know how much the hotel might contribute and how Cleveland officials feel about the bridge before considering the added cost. But even without the bridge, inflation has already driven the project’s cost up to $49.4 million, an increase over the $46 million initially quoted for the same amount of work
