Cleveland Gladiators Discussion
Cleveland actually draws well. People like them, but the AFL is a novelty http://www.arenafan.com/statistics/?page=attendance

Cleveland Gladiators Discussion
quality of the sport matters. The AFL is third-tier professional football. The city doesn't embrace the AFC Cleveland Royals, either

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
My thinking is that the Minnesota isn't receiving great offers from anybody else. If they were, Love would have been traded by now. I also agree with Hts that the cavs shouldn't give into Flip's every demand just because the national media says they should. The cavs are in an advantageous situation; they can either trade for an all-star or groom their own all-star. The wolves are just trying to minimize the damage from losing Love. I have never heard of a team that was in the driver's seat once it has been known that their star player wants out. Usually they unload the player for pennies on the dollar

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
That's a valid point. This is a thread to discuss construction. While certain topics blur the lines between how the project will affect the area vs. societal problems currently being experienced, I agree that much of this discussion shouldn't be on the 'projects and construction' forum.

Cleveland icon ideas
I don't really understand how the guardians represent cleveland other than the fact that they are on an iconic bridge. they're cool, don't get me wrong, but I don't see why they are beloved to the extent that people want them to represent sports teams, straddling on the mouth of the river, etc.

all the national guys act like it would be a wiggins for love swap, but they have to make the $11 million difference up with other pieces too.

It isn't a major sport. They might have gotten more run without the lebron story, but they wouldn't have been celebrated. How many teams can you name in the AFL?

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I agree. From the outside, immaturity seemed to be a big problem for the cavs last year. James, Haywood, Miller, and Varejao might help bring a sense of professionalism to the locker room by tempering raw emotions. Guys with rings don't hurt neither.

I does. But that IS the product. They will continue to make errors because that is what they do.

Cleveland: Downtown: Office Tower & Ferrari Showroom
nobody knows. This just an idea, at this point, right?

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
They have a negative run differential (-8), which is very telling. I think they were lucky to win so many games last year and are playing at their level right now. For comparison: OAK is +145; Angels are +89; SEA, +57; DET, +50; TOR, +19. The numbers are skewed, somewhat, in the west because texas and huston are so bad (-108 and -88, respectively).

It seems like the term 'magic bullet' has been replaced with 'catalytic'

Also, I imagine the risk of adding condos is less, due to its location and the mixed-use nature of the project.

bum, you are using 2013/14 statistics, when the average price of the ticket will be higher this year. there is also merch, national media accomidations, travelers getting hotel rooms, parking, greater exposure to advertisement, playoff games. The numbers probably skew high, but it isn't $33 million

this nba offseason really highlighted how far journalism has slid.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
There is no doubt that he won't be embraced in quite the same way as he was before he left. Fans want a winner and he patched things up quite a bit with his letter, but he'll have to earn real adoration again.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I've been wondering if these rumors about James leaning toward the cavs is that paul really wants him to come to Cleveland and is leading the cavs on in hopes that he can convince lebron. It might be wishful thinking on Rich Paul's part and has nothing to do with LeBron's decision.

I have to think that, if lebron left miami, bosh will either stay with the Heat or go to Huston.
