Also, the argument isn't that there shouldn't be new construction or that new builds should look exactly like the other houses. It is that new buildings should show awareness of place. geometry, color, height, material and style can be used to achieve this. I think that some of your examples actually do a good job of fitting in, while achieving contemporary looks. In my opinion, anything below the hill, on mayfield, should be 3-4 stories, with ground-level retail.
