i don't really have to explain why the zoo is more of a destination than the aquarium, do i?

Cleveland: Downtown Aquarium
i support the aquarium that is being built. but i think, in an ideal world, the aquarium would be best served by being on the lakefront next to the science center or on wade oval drive next to the natural history museum. I think learning institutions and museums work best when grouped together. For an example, when i want to go to something like this my first thought is, 'we can go to university circle', then i decide which museum i want to go to. the same goes for the lakefront. in the case of the aquarium, the first thought in the process has to be, 'i want to go to the aquarium'. it is forced to be its own destination.

The rotunda reminds me of the hockey museum in toronto. I have thought for a while that the three sports teams could collaborate on a cleveland sports hall of fame and I agree that East 9th and euclid would be a good spot

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
the sidewalk in the first picture is narrow, right against the street, had telephone poles going through it and were slanted from the driveway entrance. That sidewalk wouldn't be pedestrian friendly without the driveways. Hardly the same scenario.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
most of the houses on this street have driveways coming off bridge. I don't get what the issue is. its a residential street, not a commercial one.

Lots to be done at Higbee's before Cleveland's Horseshoe Casino opens in March (video) Published: Tuesday, December 13, 2011 Dave Davis, The Plain Dealer By Dave Davis, The Plain Dealer CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Jeff Cohen has put the bustle back in Higbee's. Though it's been 10 years since the last shopper filed out, the veteran Detroit builder once again has hundreds of workers swarming all over the former downtown Cleveland department store, creating a scene on Tuesday that in some ways was reminiscent of the 1950s and '60s when the store employed clerks two-to-three deep at its counters to serve the throngs of Christmas shoppers. While Cohen is running construction crews of nearly 700 people morning and night trying to transform the building into a glittering Las Vegas-style casino, he's well aware of the importance that the landmark building and its $450 million revitalization hold for Clevelanders, especially around Christmas. He said that work was on schedule for a March 26 grand opening of Cleveland's Horseshoe Casino, and promised that Clevelanders would recognize their beloved Higbee building. more at: http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2011/12/lots_to_be_done_at_higbee_befo.html this is the first i have heard of an opening date.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
This was a fair trade that really should not have been blocked. I think Gilbert should lay low for a while because within the last year he has become nationally known for three things: Lebron Letter, War-hawk and now, trade blocker. He is gaining a reputation for being anti-player and that cant be good for business.

this isn't a big development, but ever since my summer classes, Bowman Hall has been undergoing some renovations. really minor interior stuff and it is so so so bad. we got lime green chairs and counters along the hallway. They really dropped the ball. I would post pictures but ive been awake for longer than I'd like to admit and i gotta test in an hour.

http://blog.cleveland.com/business/2009/03/clevelands_downtown_considered.html This idea has been talked about before. I agree, Tower City needs to do something to cash in on this casino; its connected to the thing.
