  1. So... nothing happens?
  2. I don't like the new student center either, but I do think it's much more attractive than the old one. But the education building is one of the best new additions to the area.
  3. I went to the bodies exhibit in Rosslyn, Virginia and I thought it was very cool. But I never knew that they were unclaimed bodies bought from China... Regardless, I guess it will bring some more people around to East 4th Street and it will leave a newly renovated building once it leaves!
  4. I'm glad there's at least a chance at negotiating now
  5. McCleveland is very good at getting me excited about things I know nothing about!
  6. yay!! great news

mikel, I agree with you and the city is already trying to push for more students and immigrants. I especially like your idea of making Euclid into a nice shopping destination. We just need to wait until there are enough residents that would be willing to shop downtown.
  8. I'm still a big proponent of using the Ameritrust tower and rotunda. It's just going to keep deteriorating if we don't do something with it soon, and it will become a huge eyesore. It would be nice to see some life returning to that part of East 9th Street. There's a pretty large parking garage attached, too. Besides, I have the coolest nickname for it, if it is used for the county government. Since the building's exterior looks like honeycombs, we could call it The Hive. :D
  9. Great news! I was pretty happy with what Valerio Dewalt Train had to offer in previous renderings of the MM/CC but I think LMN could do a better job.
  10. I don't think I'd want to live in them, but there's something about them I like. It also would be nice to have all those large windows.
  11. The northeast part of Burke is really unstable. I don't think there's going to ever be a public park there.
  12. This is true, but KJP was referring to Eaton's downtown employees, which is around 440. Rosetta is moving about 400 employees downtown.
  13. I understand why they moved it there, I'm just not happy about it. I wish they could have just stayed downtown.
  14. If they wanted to build an ominous-looking glass building with a giant parking garage, they could have at least done it downtown. Then they wouldn't have to deal with that silly campus, which will rarely be used and be expensive to maintain, and that lake, which will be inevitably rendered lifeless from pesticides. Oh wait, they wanted the campus for some reason...
  15. I'm sure they could have thought of something just as nice to put downtown...
  16. all great news!!
  17. I've heard about this, but I'm not really sure how they could put a park there..... Hopefully the Sportsman is willing to sell at a reasonable price. I've heard that they've significantly lowered their asking price.
  18. any pics of the interior apartment units? there's only about 4 pictures here, but it's something: http://www.668euclidave.com/photo.asp
  19. go to this link to send comments to Eaton: http://www.eaton.com/EatonCom/CustomerCare/ContactForm/index.htm
  20. Now this is an interesting idea! I love it!
  21. Yeah, keep in mind it's winter... in northeast Ohio. I wouldn't expect any outside construction until the spring, regardless of when they get the historic preservation tax credits.
  22. Great idea! I think we should all do it. I'm sure going to. Eaton's move seems pretty inevitable now, but maybe they'll eventually consider adding offices downtown in the future.
  23. I think Eaton has about 450, but yeah it's pretty close.
  24. I was at Lola last night! but I probably left before Mario Batali got there.
  25. This is a great idea. Like EC said, write write write!
