  1. yes the property on W 58th is between franklin and bridge. There doesn't seem to be too much within walking distance around the daisy ave place, but I know it's within 5minutes drive of tremont and west side market. The place on daisy ave is right by metro health and I have heard there were some shootings there but I don't know for sure. Anyway I appreciate everyone's input, it really helps to get information from people that know these areas first hand.
  2. it's south
  3. Well I am back into the apartment hunt and I have found 2 places that I like. Both are in Cleveland and both are within 15minutes of my school. I am going to be attending the national institute of massotherapy in independance. One is off W 58th and Franklin Blvd the other is off Daisy Ave and W25th (off of I-71). The one off W25th, the landlord encouranged me to talk to my neighbors and get a feel for the area. She said she owns about a half dozen properties ion the are a and she has never had any issues. The other one looks safe as well but I don't know. Anyone know these areas at all? Any help is appreciated:)
  4. Well I need something with a fenced in back yard, a place that won't screw me on pet rent. Someplace somewhat big, if it's an apartment at least 1100 sq ft or a small house would work too. And of course i have a budget, with my boyfriend and I living off our GI Bill housing allowances of 1100 each per month (we are going to be full time students) and my 1300 a month with unemployment AND with a baby on the way money is a concern. I am leaning more towards an apartment, a lot of apartments in Lakewood seem to be large homes converted into apartments. And at least with that some of the utilities might be paid and I won't have to provide my own appliances. I don't think my needs are impossible, just a little harder to find the right place.
  5. Ok. I am going out of town for the rest of the week but dive back into my apartment hunt next monday. I am not ruling out tremont by any means but am leaning more towards lakewood. I will def talk to the neighbors of the area and see whats around.
  6. Well I think I am going to look at something maybe in Lakewood. There is a dog park there (with 3 boxers that is important) and it seems safe for the most part. I know a lot of homes are split with one apartment on the 2nd floor and one on the first. I think I am going to look for something like that, with a fenced in back yard. I am also looking into Tremont as well. I am not moving until Dec so I have a little bit of time. With a baby coming in June I just want to feel safe in my place.
  7. Thank you SO much. I am so glad I put this question up on here. Everyone has been so helpful. Thanks again, I will keep looking .
  8. The place is off of Barber. I have a baby coming in June so my concern is finding a safe place to live. I haven't signed a lease as of yet.
  9. Wow, I don't know what area it is. I know that I get off W25th from I90E and I turn left and it's like maybe a half mile down the road on the left. Thanks so much for the website. I will check that out right now.
  10. Well a few people that are warning me about the are only visited and my brother who is the most adament lived in Tremont for a few years. He lived around where the coffee shop Civilization is. Right now I live in Vermilion with parents:( I am starting school in Jan. I know I should have done some research but I didn't expect to find a place that had everything I wanted within my price range so quickly ( I have 3 boxers so finding a landlord that is ok with that was proving to be a problem:) When I was there the few times, I saw a few older couples in the area, houses decorated for Halloween, it didn't look scary to me. The landord said he has never had an issue. Anyway thanks SO much for the help so far!!! I really appreciate it
  11. So I am moving to the Tremont area in a month. The area I am going to be living at is right down the street from the West Side market, it's off W25th, turning left onto 25th it's a few streets down on the left. When I visited it looked like an ok area. Dead end street, mostly residential. It didn't look like the slums. But now everyone is telling me what a bad area that is so now I am worried. I don't plan on walking around at night or anything but is it horrible crime? Any help is appreciated:)
