i wanted to mention keep Cincinnati beautiful regularly has harassed business owners with "graffiti" type murals on them. They have also called the police on people painting these permission walls. These walls have proven to be outlets for very talented artists who would otherwise be painting under some bridge. I'm the first to stomp some punk tagging up my property but obviously graffiti abatement in this city is not working. In the 90's when people where allowed to paint goebles park in covington you didn't see graffiti on the highways like you do now. common sense

That has to be one of the most well written paragraphs I have ever read. And it is spot on. I know the fellow who did those, he did the chalk hands as well. It is how he thinks. rofl at keep cincinnati beautiful. I remember when five and verbs did interviews on channel 19 news with paper bags on they heads talking about the overpass messages. My favorite was "jake sweeny stole my car"
  3. I have never met Gale Smith but i have heard the man described as an angel by someone who knows him and knows what an angel is. He funds the school on the block from what i have been told. It is so sad to see something like this happen. He is a very wealthy man and could have stabilized them or tried to sell them. Another empty lot. I hope someone appeals it. The building is sewper rough. But it has been bad for many years before he got it. I believe he was ill advised. I don't think it was his intention when he bought it to have to tear it down. These blocks need people living on them so bad. It's like a war zone down elm from liberty to the end. For every 10 whores, drug dealers, or drug addicts you'll find maybe 1 normal person. I hope these days are numbered.
  4. Good pictures.
  5. I lean pretty far left on social issues but if these goals would happen to be the true agenda of the right they would get might vote always. Destruction of all nuclear weapons and ending all government handouts would be nice as well. I think in due time libertarianism will become much more popular in America.
  6. I think the ballot initiative would have to be along the lines of making low levels of possession the lowest priority for Cincinnati PD.
  7. If you want section 8 tenants! I'd rather have under market rents.

I did not know this. Excuse my ignorance. After reading a little i've realized that the program is commendable and a good example of the private sector handling things. I just thought they are low paid city workers. I hope i didn't offend anyone.
  12. You really have done more then your homework.
  13. I walked the proposed route of the planned first phase yesterday and was offered drugs (dog food, lol) 15 times and counted what looked like around 8 whores. Two of them appeared to be men dressed as women. It makes me wonder if the police are still not really enforcing the law in OTR. It was kind of sad and difficult for me to not break drug dealers noses near my house. The blocks near the corner of Elm and McMicken was where most of the whores where. Drug dealers where everywhere including right near Findlay Market where police where sitting inside near the coffee spot where i always see them.

I couldn't disagree more. I've had a few experiences dealing with these individuals and see them regularly doing absolutely nothing. Normally they are doing what the private sector needs to be doing for themselves. If they are doing anything at all. Even in the PDF you see one cleaning multiple instances of graffiti off a phone booth owned by CBT. I bet there where three more of them standing around watching. Why should tax money go towards this? I often see them cleaning the paper boxes. Corporate welfare is what it is. Move everyone of them to Over the Rhine. It would benefit the residence at least. Or better yet get rid of them and have city workers do what they are supposed to do and enforce the laws on the books about property owners maintenance. just my opinion
  15. I doubt it nor do they know about the continuance clause needed for the VBML to be passed on to new owners of the property.
