Help a New Yorker find a great Cleveland neighborhood
Sorry to ask such a specific question -- but are there places close by to walk dogs in those buildings? I'll be by in a few weeks to check em out but figured maybe someone would know this?

Help a New Yorker find a great Cleveland neighborhood
I hope M Frazier doesn't mind me asking a question on his thread. he seems like a nice guy so I'll take the chance Is there a particular prime renting season in OC or Tremont -- are availabilities and leases usually done during a certain time like summer or is the ebb and flow of quality available rentals usually all year round?

Oberlin: East College Street Project
I thought I'd share some positive news in the midst of mostly depressing news for our region's economy. The East College Street Project closed on their loans and New Market Tax Credits about 10 days ago. We're very grateful that our bank (Lorain National Bank) stayed committed to the project and this community. The value of having an independent locally owned bank was really brought home for us. We will be starting construction in a matter of weeks. Fiorilli construction is the GC. We'll also redoing the website soon and have updated information, a construction cam, etc. Hope, Josh

Oberlin: East College Street Project
35 miles to Ohio City from Oberlin. I guess it depends on where in Cleveland. Thanks. Things take longer then we'd like due to the complex nature of the project (new market tax credits, a co-op, mixed income, the realities of Oberlin, etc) but this project is happening. Some more big announcements soon. I'm sure my friend from Oberlin will post his testimonies. I'm not going to do a tit for tat but if anyone has any questions or comments, they can e-mail me. The address is on our website -- www.sustainableca.com Peace, Josh

Cleveland: Valley View Hope VI Project
Really glad to hear this is soon starting. I've walked the site with the developer. It feels like a great concept that will add tons of value (not just monetary) to the area.

Lorain County: Development and News
Parts of Vermilion are pretty. I'm thinking of the houses by Chez Francois, near the water. When I read about how 2nd grade museums are economic development I grow kind of skeptical.

Lakewood: Development and News
That's what I thought when I was inside the model - this is nice if you are a boomer, want some pretense of urban living and don't want to send your kids to a bad public school system

Lakewood: Development and News
ha, i actually have been inside this model recently. I liked the overall feel of the townhome although the decorating was a bit much.

Amherst: Cleveland Quarries
Why would anyone be opposed to this? I think anything in LC that isn't a Walmart is a positive step. And the influx of wealth can certainly help the area.

Amherst: Cleveland Quarries
Well, I am pretty sure that any agreement between the county and the developer would stipulate that the bonds would not be issued or improvements be made until construction is under way. That's the usual stipulation in these TIF agreements and how what you laid out doesn't happen to the City. What i've heard and in no way know this to be true is that this european developer is really a front for the Saudis who are building like 4 palaces to come to America to when the Saudi Empire collapses.

Amherst: Cleveland Quarries
I can't blame them for not dealing with the neighboring townships. The law changing is a very real excuse and didn't leave a lot of time for twiddling thumbs. I live nearby and after having dealt with such willful and unintentional ignorance on the topic of TIF, I can see why the County wouldn't want to muck this deal up. The project sounds too ridic to be true. Does anyone know anything about the developer?
