What kind of animal skat (poop) is this? (Cleveland)
NEW TWIST - The next door neighbor's cat has made the area once thought was due to a racoon, a toilet - a near daily activity. Recently, the cat was caught red-handed more than once. Maybe the racoon was part of the problem, but now the cat is the main issue. The neighbor (and cat) is nice, but this has to stop. Q: How can the relationship be maintained with the neighbor, but get this problem solved? :-( The neighbor has been told that the cat was spotted in the same area, going to the bathroom there. Thanks.

What kind of animal skat (poop) is this? (Cleveland)
Thanks all for your responses. I just heard that about one mile (max) from me, someone had a racoon in their chimney a couple of weeks ago and then another one shortly thereafter. So they are definitely in the area. I had heard that they were around in fairly large numbers, but I had not positively confirmed that myself. I'm still trying to identify the animal who is very 'regular' if you know what I mean. :) We have pretty strict and enforced dog laws so I am somewhat skeptical that it is a neighbor either on our street or on the next block doing this on a daily basis. I am still investigating... Please keep the feedback comin'. Thanks.

What kind of animal skat (poop) is this? (Cleveland)
Thanks for your reply, X. No, there is no water (pond, etc.) nearby. The land development that is going on nearby whereby large areas of trees, etc. being removed is causing more sightings of deer, coyotes, etc. here in the city.

What type of bird is this? (Cleveland area)
Thanks all for your replies. OTR, except for the bright blue feathers, it does look more like the cajay. Thanks for that reference. bumsquare, I'm a believer, too. noozer, it's nice to hear that they eat mosquitos and other pests, but I really want it to make its home elsewhere as birds have the tendency to poop too much and I do not want it on my light nor my driveway nor risk it getting into my garage when the door is open. It leaves for the day then comes back at dusk for the 2nd day now. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get it to move along e.g. spray the area with (I have no idea what)? Thanks.

What type of bird is this? (Cleveland area)
Thanks for your reply, OTR. I looked at that picture and it doesn't seem to me to be a Barn Swallow. The bird in my photo has mainly dark brown or grayish (dark) feathers (guestimate - it was getting dark) with an orange stomach area and about the size of a slightly-overweight woodpecker, but it is definitely not a woodpecker. I wonder if it was someone's pet that got away?

What type of bird is this? (Cleveland area)
Hello. This bird showed up this evening and looks like it wants to stay for awhile. It left for about 5 minutes and then came back. It is still on our light outside and it's now midnight. Does anyone know what type of bird this is? I've attached a photo of it. It let me get pretty close and it did not flinch. Thanks.

Captain Penny or Barnaby anyone? I heard Barnaby came to his show drunk and he lost his job that day. Is there any truth to that? Was he really cursing at the kids on the set on live TV? I did see Jungle Larry at Cedar Point at least a few times. He liked having some cool snakes around his neck. :) How about when Super Host had heart surgery and on his day back, he wore a huge bandaid across his chest? Where's Twinkle with the rotor tail?

It was great growing up in Cleveland and watching it evolve and progress especially to the time when the Flats was jumping and businesses were moving to the city (George Voinovich & Mike White eras). I'm glad to find someone who remembers the slide. There was so much to do during that time. I, as well as others enjoy looking back at the good 'ole days as we continue to move forward and progress in life. There is nothing wrong with that. Maybe the younger generation may not see it that way, which is okay. P.S. Thanks for pointing out the duplication. Just at submission, my computer had restarted itself and the list somehow was pasted twice. Nope - I am not old enough for an AARP card, yet and too young to all 30 somethings "whippersnappers". I am just old enough to remember those things. :) I was also old enough when going to May Co., customers were given S&H green stamps (and another type of stamps that I don't recall the name of) with purchases. My mother gave us kids a shoebox of those stamps to put them in the books for $3.00 off their next purchase at May Co. $3 off was a really big deal at that time. S&H green stamps was on its way out not too long after.
