One of my sister's boyfriends had a Motorola cell phone that had the (new-ish) ability to display a static text greeting on the lcd screen. It was pretty limited in terms of characters it could display. Most people would have chosen something like their name or nickname or maybe something obscene or cute. His just said Sizzlin' Beef. It stuck with me for whatever reason.

It probably would have ended up with RTA having a bunch of bus lines sponsored, given semi-dedicated lanes, the promise of traffic signal priority, and deemed BRT, and thus part of the rapid transit routes/maps. Using the word 'rail' would have been noted as an oversight on their part.

I crossed Ontario at Prospect going toward Tower City on the public square side of Ontario when I got the little white walking dude signal. A cop directing traffic directed an RTA bus to turn into me, then told me "Heads Up!", and then when I finished crossing the street in front of the bus, bantered back and forth with his partner loudly, intentionally, about how I had a death wish, and that I was probably crossing the street like that so that I could sue when I got hit or my family could sue if and when I died. It was great.

^^ The main argument, the millions of square feet of empty office space, might have been true based on the 2010 reports cited, but I don't think that's an accurate figure today.
