sad day for cleveland. really sad how many idiots there are here........looks like the only smart people live in chagrin falls and hunting valley. how did this go from being defeated easily several times before to passing? smear tactics by the powers that be to flood us with commercials and ads all over tower city. disgusting. dudes really think a couple slot machines are gonna transform cleveland's economy. thanks a lot RTA for deciding to do scheduled maintenance today and shut down the rapid. you cant do this stuff on a sunday instead of saturday? the browns are away tomorrow so i cant think of any other reason not to shut down the rapid on a sunday instead of saturday seems like its not operating every other week on sat extremely annoying

what the heck? i called RTA several times last year for a refund and they never called me back and whats this about raising fares and cutting circulators? RTA needs to fix their own problems instead of taking it out on tax payers. im getting sick of them raising fares every year while reducing service. If you were having issues with a refund, have you contacted our RTA reps on this very board for assistance? Again, if you have issues with fares, service cuts, etc. tell your neighbors and tax payers to call their state and federal officials and ask for more money to be allocated to transportation. As you know we are in a recession and rta ridership is up but monies collected from sales is down.. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that, that situation, doesn't balance a budget. Lastly, how can you say this is an RTA issue when every transit system in the country is having budget issues. RTA is one of the best managed systems from a financial standpoint. If you proof otherwise that RTA is (has been) financial irresponsible, please share you finding with the board. do you even read my message? sheesh! i already said i contacted RTA, jmasek even gave me a number to call which i did and still never got a refund. whatever, enjoy your donation. i've already written letters to state officials as have hundreds of people. you think that every problem in the world can be solved simply by writting a letter. maybe i should write a letter to end world hunger and poverty. dont tell me what to do, tell RTA to get its ass to columbus RTA has shown its incompetence. cant accurately count riders, cant collect fares, cant get payment system to work properly, hire drivers who have no business behind the wheel and end up killing someone. they cut service, raise fares virtually every year now, and have the nerve to parade that "best transportation system" award around that they won how many years ago? what has RTA done about their budget deficit ? have they gone to columbus? sounds to me like all they've done is mismanagement. im not providing a service to RTA, RTA is providing a service to me. i really dont care what other systems in the country are doing. i have every right to complain and most of those places have better coverage than RTA does with EXPANSION. fuel increase? bull, fuel prices have gone down. its not even worth it to buy passes now. how much is an all day pass now? $5? almost twice the cost of what it was a few years ago. RTA are crooks in suits the same way government officials are i'm trying to live car-free and RTA isnt doing me any favors.

um. theres gonna be thousands of people unemployed anyway and they should close their accounts to send a message to PNC. i know if i was a national city customer my account would be closed already. i wouldnt want to continue banking with a ramsacked company. hell look at PNC's own comments about how they werent even interested in national city's market

these executives always make out like bandits........... this is DEVASTATING!! we are talking about a 163 yr old institution in cleveland. national city made it through the great depression, stock market crash, and cant survive the lending crisis? they are something like the 3rd or 4th largest employer downtown. i just dont get it, national city was the only one out of the largest 25 banks to be denied TARP funds. PNC basically used TARP money to buy NCC. the government illegally allowed NCC to be bought out. this company LIED to share holders too. we lose money while these f*ckers paulson and ratskin are set for life cutting deals. its all BS....the banking system in the united states is a joke i encourage anyone who banks with NCC to close their account whos next? key? fifth third? they arent safe by any means sometimes i think the powers that be get together every sunday and go "how can we shit on cleveland again?" this is a really sad day.....im upset right now

shaker messed up a TOD opportunity when they rebuilt shaker towne centre as a strip center. what was there before was up to the sidewalk and the other side of the street is up to the sidewalk. you couldve had the stores up to the sidewalk and parking on top, underground, and in back. im thinkin maybe a 3-story building with room for apartments or multiple story retail. there could even be an underground connection to the lee road rapid station. in the middle you could have it sort of like a small mall almost, like a better version of university square. youve got all the transit there with the 14, 40, and blue line. i wouldve replicated the building at the corner of van aken/lee on the other corner as well. theres some interesting plans they had for that area on clevelandmemory. so youre basically saying "lets move all the poor people out to the burbs so the yuppies can all live in the city and not have to deal with them"

nice pics KJP mmmm mi pueblo i rode it today......my bus was crowded. i thought it would be a lot bigger in the inside, the seats are pretty small and there isnt much room in the aisle. was kinda slow but i noticed theyd come back and forth right after one another. im guessin they are only runnin so many that fast for the opening. if only the rapid and busses came that frequently! overall it wasnt much different than the #6 except for bigger cooler lookin busses and an improved streetscape. now all we need is those empty buildings occupied all along euclid

yo that machine in tower city 'VML39' is terrible. i put in several new crisp bills and it wouldnt even take them. after a couple tries i gave up since it took my money before (never got a refund).

so the fuel surcharge is in place of the original fare increases that were proposed across the board? what i was getting at is whether the fuel surcharge AND the original fare hikes that were proposed for november 9th i think were BOTH happening. on RTA's site it mentions the service cuts starting november so i assume that passes arent going up in price.
