Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
^ Sounds like their best option at this point. I still wouldn't choose that area in its current state to rent. I would like it though if they built more and just decided to make it all rental!

Cleveland: Hotels, Conventions, and Tourism News & Info
I wish that was true, but unfortunately its not. The article says that out of the 100 rooms they are running at 20% occupancy. That is pathetic

Did everyone else know that the Crowne Plaza only has 100 usable rooms and that the other rooms are out due to water leaks, window leaks, broken plumbing and broken air conditioning. On top of that only 2 of the 6 elevators work. And they are only running at 20% so thats only 20 rooms. If this happens it will be a huge project, the building is a dump!

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I dont understand why we wouldn't keep Vickers. But anyways, I like the draft overall. I really didn't want Julio Jones, so basically getting all those picks for him was great in my opinion. Overall im happy with the draft. I hope Hillis and McCoy can both have big years. Sign Phil Dawson. And most importantly, let actually have a season!

Cleveland Public Schools: News and Discussion
Retiring Cleveland schools workers paid nearly $5 million severance CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cleveland Municipal School District, scratching for every penny, could use the nearly $5 million paid to employees who have retired since last summer. Records show that 269 employees cashed in that amount of accumulated vacation and sick leave since the fiscal year started July 1. Topping the list are two administrators who each collected about $83,000, one after working in the system for four years. Nearly 70 percent of the employees picked up at least $10,000 in what the district calls severance; more than 40 percent received $20,000 or more. All redeemed the time based on their final pay rates, no matter when during their careers the leave was accumulated. At least 24 employees who retired were rehired, a practice popularly known as "double dipping." http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2011/05/retiring_cleveland_schools_wor.html

Wow, I didnt realize how bad of shape the hotel was in. Some pretty shocking things in this article about the hotels current state. Crowne Plaza bidder would close hotel for two years If the sale of the Crowne Plaza Hotel Cleveland City Centre goes through as planned, the new owner intends to close the dilapidated building in November to undertake a two-year, $47-million transformation of the property into a four-star hotel. A myriad of mechanical problems caused by years of neglect has left the current operator with only about 100 usable rooms in the 470-room hotel. At present, a single level of scaffolding surrounds the building at East Sixth Street and St. Clair Avenue, protecting passersby from bits of masonry peeling off the exterior. The closing of the 36-year-old property would put 100 employees out of work. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20110509/SUB1/305099976

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
Exactly, Im not going to invest my time, money, and emotions in a team thats losing like crazy. But the way they are now, Ive watched almost every game, and plan on getting out to some games once the weather improves. When the Indians suck, I dont follow a different team, I just completely ignore baseball in general. No harm in that

Solutions for Homelessness
Exactly what I was saying before the thread got deleted when we switched back. I would be out of here in a flash, if I had the opportunity and if I was homeless. No reason to deal with our weather. So cities down south might grow in homeless populations but I highly doubt many homeless people would be coming back here if given the chance.

The New UrbanOhio Forum: Need Input!
I think that several of us who voted for SMF would possibly have voted for vbulliten 4.0 if all the kinks would have been worked out and we would have been given more time to play around with it and figure it out more.

Also posted at the Burke Airport News thread New hangar space at Cleveland's Burke Lakefront Airport could mark start of lakefront plan CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Efforts to build hangar space for an aircraft maintenance company at Burke Lakefront Airport could prove the first piece of the city of Cleveland's larger, expansive plans for redeveloping the lakefront. Constant Aviation, a company based at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, is looking for as much as 100,000 square feet at Burke. One of the potential sites is Aviation High School, which has been vacant for years except for a short period when it was used as a homeless shelter. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2011/05/new_hangar_space_at_burke_lake.html

Cleveland medical mart might be full, but tenants lack binding contracts CLEVELAND, Ohio — When MMPI's Greg Sanker stopped by the offices of Industrial Woodworking Corp. in western Michigan, the marketing manager at the small but innovative furniture company couldn't believe his luck. "Basically they offered us a free showroom for three years and a $20,000 cash incentive to build the showroom," said Jerome Alicki. "I couldn't see any reason not to do that ... I thought if I say no to this, the CEO is going to fire me." But while MMPI has said Cleveland's coming medical mart has lined up a full slate of tenants, Industrial Woodworking, like all of the 63 potential occupants at the complex, has not committed to taking space in the facility. http://www.cleveland.com/healthfit/index.ssf/2011/05/medical_mart_tenants_lack_bind.html

Actually now that I think about it, I would like to change my vote to the new one. There were some pretty nice features on there, and over time, the kinks would have been worked out. I think it brought some new life to the forum and was more visually attractive. I was never a fan of the "Curve" version of SMF. So I think, that it is finally time for change and vbulletin 4.0 is a good route to take!
