  1. thanks for posting that. havent happened to see it in person yet but at least now I know what it looks like.
  2. I was not surprised at all with New York City. And David, I can agree on some level with what your saying. In some instances, strong diversity isn't necessarily the best thing.
  3. I also checked it out yesterday lol. No pictures though :( You should share you pictures as well!

  6. Thank you for answering!
  7. Hopefully once the new dorms open the "demand" will go up and they will be forced to keep those places open longer
  8. ^ Interesting. Friday they treat like a weekend from what I just looked up. Those food places in the student center stay open till 6(still early) on monday though thursday, cafeteria stays open in 10, and bar uno till midnight. The library also stays open till 10 during the week. But then friday comes and they close everything way earlier like your friend experienced.
  9. Design it similar to the medical mutual building. That building does a great job at owning the corner.
  10. I dont like the jenga one. It doesn't interact well with the corner at all. And there is also a plaza in front of it. Also it seems as if they demolished every building east of it :-P
  11. lol baseball is always a long season

What did espn have to say about the victory anyways?
  13. I would love to see that building demolished for a new one that interacts with that intersection better.

I think this is a good statistic from the article i posted "In Cleveland, which lost 17% of its population, downtown added 1,300 college-educated people ages 25 to 34, up 49%." Its good to see that downtown continues to grow with college-educated young people.

Urban centers draw more young, educated adults Educated 20- and 30-somethings are flocking to live downtown in the USA's largest cities — even urban centers that are losing population. About two-thirds of young adults who live in Boston's city center have at least a four-year degree. In more than two-thirds of the nation's 51 largest cities, the young, college-educated population in the past decade grew twice as fast within 3 miles of the urban center as in the rest of the metropolitan area — up an average 26% compared with 13% in other parts. Even in Detroit, where the population shrank by 25% since 2000, downtown added 2,000 young and educated residents during that time, up 59% , according to analysis of Census data by Impresa Inc., an economic consulting firm. http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2011-04-01-1Ayoungrestless01_ST_N.htm
  19. ^ That is a huge issue. People in marketing for instance who get paid commission are now bringing in half of what they used to. They aren't technically unemployed but they are having a hard time make ends meet.

  21. Well im not sold on the idea it was just a random pitch. I just didn't understand why everybody seemed completely against it. And i though it would be cool to incorporate a sign. But yes, a simple changing of the crosswalk signs would also help tremendously.
  22. There are no storefronts where I suggested one be placed. Hell even Chicago has pedestrian bridges to and from Millenium park over large streets to, get this, make it MORE PEDESTRIAN FRIENDLY. Currently the walk from the station to to market sucks. Its lonely, empty, and your surrounded by cars. Then you have to cross a 10 lane street(I know its not actually 10 lanes) with a crosswalk sign that hasn't been replaced since the 80's and if there is any form of sunlight you cant see the fucking thing. You could even hang a sign on the bridge and have it also serve as a gateway into Ohio City or the market. Have a big sign that says "West Side Market" hanging on it.
  23. I want to send them a good picture and just give the the rights to it cause I never like the pictures they use.
