Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
I was looking at googlemaps and found this large amount of empty land? What was there before and are there currently any plans for the site? http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Cleveland&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=33.352165,78.925781&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Cleveland,+Cuyahoga,+Ohio&ll=41.475242,-81.760554&spn=0.007765,0.019269&t=h&z=16

Cleveland Waterfront Line Extension / Downtown Loop
Currently its basically just a route from the northcoast harbor to tower city, with nothing in-between. If you could get more activity in the middle of the line, ridership would go up tremendously.

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
In the previous article I posted this was said... "When phase two of this project is completed this fall, another 800 students will be added to the “living-on-campus” number, bringing the total to about 1800 staying in official residential facilities — or nearly double the current figure."

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Oh and maps.bing.com has old birds eye view of the flats before most of the demolitions occurred

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Also is there any chance they could connect the boardwalk to settlers landing and then have it continue to the center street bridge and into the west bank?

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
I know its not as relevant in the first phase but I really hope this project really interacts with the river well. Promote the usage of boats, have patios on the river, etc. I know its just an earlier rendering, and although it can look cool, it doesn't seem like it interacts with the river well. A lot of empty space by the river. You need to give people more of a reason to use the boardwalk, not just build it and have everything far away from it. Hopefully once further development occurs we will get more interactive designs. http://blog.cleveland.com/business/2008/05/eua_20080508_aerial_LR.jpg

Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino
As you can see, Higbees and East 4th are really close. And even the permanent casino isn't far away and you could also walk through tower city, making the outside walk shorter. I really just wanted to use this new feature. http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=41.498373,-81.692255&spn=0.007875,0.019269&t=h&z=16
