The more I think about this, the more angry I become. What other cuts will probably be made in the future once he cuts funding even more.

Cleveland Sports Championships
I was trying to figure out how many sports championships the city of Cleveland has had in the 3 major sports. This is what I have so far... Cleveland Indians, 2 World Series, 1920, 1948 Cleveland Rosenblums, 3 Championships, 1926, 1929, 1930 Cleveland Browns, 4 AAFC Championships, 1946, 1947, 1948, 1949 Cleveland Browns, 4 NFL Championships, 1950, 1954, 1955, 1964 Cleveland Rams, 1 NFL Championship, 1945 Cleveland Bulldogs, 1 NFL Championship, 1924 That gives you a grand total of 15 championships, all between the years 1920 and 1964. Am I missing any?

Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino
Pretty soon they will be saying "There is nothing downtown besides sports teams, big buildings, good restaurants, the theaters, a college, a casino, apartments, condos, historic architecture, tower city, nightclubs, the rock hall, and the science center. There is no reason to be down there." Followed up by, " And theres a million homeless people walking around, asking for money, shooting people right and left, and packs of thugs jumping anybody who even looks at them, its to dangerous now a days to even step foot in downtown cleveland."

This blows... "Last fall, Gov. Ted Strickland committed $50 million in federal funds to boost public transit. And he proposed $50 million a year for the following two years. But under Gov. John Kasich, ODOT will cut this year's commitment to $40 million, and to $20 million each of the next two years, Wray said."

From the Akron Beacon Journal <b>EDITORIAL: False promise</b> evelopers of Cleveland's downtown casino can't wait to get rolling. Last week, they announced a makeover of four floors of the historic Higbee Building on Public Square. In about a year, electronic slot machines and table games are expected to be in operation. What will follow in a few years is a $600 million, 16-acre gambling complex on Huron Road, which might end up connected to the Higbee's site and operated jointly. Dan Gilbert, whose gambling company is teaming with Caesars Entertainment Corp., is promoting no less than the transformation of downtown Cleveland, setting an example for urban casinos across the country. The majority owner of the Cavaliers envisions "two-way traffic" with downtown hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues, all benefiting from an estimated 5 million visitors a year. http://www.tradingmarkets.com/news/stock-alert/czr_editorial-false-promise-1475133.html

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Looks like either Lakewood or the Flats Also Mo's Southwest Grill is opening up next to the Jimmy Johns by CSU Dim and Den Sum chef not ready to park food-truck operations: Restaurant Row That much-anticipated permanent home for local food-truck star Chris Hodgson is on ice, at least for the moment. Fans of his immensely popular Dim and Den Sum truck have been eagerly awaiting the debut of his first restaurant. Not yet. The young chef tells me that his will remain a moveable feast -- at least in the foreseeable future. "We just stepped back. It wasn't a deal I wanted to do," Hodgson says of a pending agreement to settle into the Grind Building across from the West Side Market. That doesn't mean his vision of settling into a brick-and-mortar location has blipped off the screen. "I'm looking at Lakewood, and also a really cool space in the Flats," Hodgson says. http://www.cleveland.com/dining/index.ssf/2011/02/dim_and_den_sum_chef_not_ready.html

Hey whats a good place downtown to get a really good cheeseburger or grilled chicken sandwich. Something a little faster, not a full service sit down restaurant. Thanks!

How accurate is CrimeReports.com? It only shows 1 murder since the beginning of the year. Also does the city release annual crime reports where you can see totals for all types of crimes?

I dont think its an issue for enough people though, I mean look how successful 668 was. I think a lot of people actually prefer to live in rehabs, but thats just my personal opinion based on what I have seen and heard.

Cleveland Apartment Market
When you say city wide, it makes sense that there would be more for-sale housing because thats what makes sense in a lot of neighborhoods. Apartments are the big thing downtown, not for-sale units though. City neighborhoods such as Tremont, Ohio City and Detroit Shoreway on the west side do have a lot of infill houses and town homes. And you have places like battery park as well. But those types of housing makes sense in their surrounding neighborhoods. So ill agree that citywide their are probably more new for-sale housing, but downtown that is just not the case.

Pittsburgh is a great city, like it more then Green Bay, but there is no way in hell you'd see me rooting for the Steelers, unless it was against a team I hated more, like the Cowboys, Jets, or Giants. Sports are different for me, and for sports, I hate Pittsburgh.
