How many officers are on duty at one time?

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
I agree we should see more cops on the streets, especially in our commercial districts. Does far more for the neighborhood than sitting in a driveway watching for people speeding. There is something nice about seeing cops patrol the neighborhood by foot as well. Creates a sense of community, and does enhance the perception of safety.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Those kicks were made, but all of them could give someone a heart attack! Ive never been so nervous to watch someone kick an extra point!

Cleveland Browns Discussion
^^ Its not like we just had some major downgrade at QB, and unfortunately its only temporary as Weeden will be back soon. Personally Id like Hoyer to get a shot. He has practiced under some great systems and some great QB's. He is a hometown guy who went undrafted. If he could do something positive, it would be an awesome storyline. Trent Richardson did not have that spark that the Cleveland Browns were hoping for. Additionally he probably wont have a long career in the NFL as he has injury problems. The trade was surprising, but I don't see this as the end of the world.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Ogbonnaya has looked good in the games he had an opportunity to start, which hasn't happened since 2011 though. 19 attempts 90 yards 4.7 average 21 attempts 115 yards 5.5 average Looks better than what we have seen from Richardson or Hardesty. I agree he is not the long term solution though, but I dont believe he will hurt us and he might actually be a slight improvement.

Cleveland Rapid Rail Construction Projects (Non-Service Issues)
The healthline vehicles don't hold up as well. The exteriors are starting to look bad, as well as the interiors. Several light bulbs need replacing as well.

Cleveland Rapid Rail Construction Projects (Non-Service Issues)
That is scary. Especially since RTA is drinking the BRT kool-aid.

Cleveland: Little Italy: Development and News
I can find free street parking right by mayfield any day at anytime. It's not that hard if you know where to look. People are just want a large visable free lot. Also I keep hearing about a parking problem, but that doesn't seem to affect the business of the restaurants that always seem to be busy. Way overblown. Maybe since they say the building is a hazard, we can demolish it and save the courtyard as a compromise?

Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
Unfortunately it is almost completely dead at night. Playhouse Square's productively used storefronts are few, and are scattered around. Hopefully this Star Plaza/District improvement draws more places to the remaining storefronts which will add life to the area.

Who needs a good plan when the money is there and you aren't paying for it. What did they have to lose?

Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
Was this a plan started by the state or did it start locally. And did John Kasich start this project, or did he just support a plan that is otherwise local? I don't know the details but I'm guessing its the later.

Cleveland: Little Italy: Development and News
Next up will be the mayfield theater which will leave them with one giant lot, destroying one of the things that makes Little Italy great, it's lack of ugly parking lots disconnecting the neighborhood.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
I dont find it that crazy that Case is building in their north residential area, which is where the dining halls are located. I'd be more surprised if they did join Intesa.

Road Straddling Airbus from China
Horsemen in the 1800s probably had the same concerns about elevated railways which, initially, were all powered by steam locomotives. And look what happened to them, they all crashed and died. That is the story about why we no longer have horsemen. ;)

Road Straddling Airbus from China
^ I do feel like it could cause distractions/accidents. You are driving and then out of nowhere a vehicle speeds right over you.

Road Straddling Airbus from China
Very interesting concept.

Northeast Ohio / Cleveland: General Transit Thread
Yep. It's why they don't do it anymore, except at Tower City. But how does this, and the work rules compare with other cities? Our rail systems raw costs are higher than the national average. I want to know why. That wage makes no sense. It takes no skill to do that job. It should be minimum wage to $10 an hour.

Northeast Ohio / Cleveland: General Transit Thread
Wasnt it stated on here that it costs something like $60,000 a year to hire someone to sit at a rail station and collect tickets/help customers?

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
Imagine if we had block after block of an East 4th like environment. Pedestrian only, narrow brick paved streets, mixed used buildings, with the additional aesthetic improvements. Maybe they could do something like that on that massive lot on prospect as an extension of East 4th.

CLEVELAND - One World Festival at the Cultural Gardens
Wow how did I miss this event?! Im disappointed I have to wait till next year to attend! This is a great event idea. I always thought we dont do enough to bring people to the gardens and show them what exists. Im glad things seem to be changing. Hopefully this is just the beginning of more events in the park.

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
Green Ribbons are terrible. Greenspace at Cleveland state should be contained in the center of the block in courtyards. Courtyards are active, green ribbons(large lawns) are not.
