It feels like you guys are ready to jump on this guy no matter what he does. Give him a chance, your stuck with him for 4 more years. I dont even like the guy at all, and I didn't vote for him, but damn, let the guy breathe. You dont need to be breathing down his neck every time he takes a step. Wow he hired all white people. Several of them were women. Sorry he picked people that he thought were best for the job and that wanted to take the state in the same direction as him. He is probably mostly surrounded by white people so those are the people he knows and feels comfortable hiring. Im sure the hiring had nothing to do with race. Dont turn into Jessie Jackson or George Forbes guys.

Just reading an old retail article from 2008 Idiot #1 aka zebra69 good luck in these endeavors but i think more people are going to be thinking about paying heat, cooling , and fuel bills then going downtown to shop . Perhaps enough people may move downtown to support some stores but we for one family will shop on the internet or in westlake where we have everything and less gas and hassle with thugs , parking tickets, parking lots , etc . Good luck though as Cleveland needs something before it falls off the abyss right into oblivion . Idiot #2 aka darthvador70 I've worked downtown for 20 years, and during that time all retail centers that have opened have declined or gone belly-up eventually. The Galleria...Tower City...The Halle building...The Old Arcade. Cleveland needs to accept the fact that it is a 9-5 city, Monday-Friday. With the exception of bars and restaurants, no one is going to come downtown and deal with the parking issues, young thugs, and homeless people at every turn. I, for one, can't wait to get out of downtown when my workday is done. Going back downtown for anything outside of work hours seems like going to work. I'd rather be in the suburbs where I can park for free, not worry about getting jumped by a pack of thugs, or hit up for spare change. (^My Favorite Line) Awesome person aka redhaze Vader, Zebra, You idiots can stay in the suburbs. You've already been there too long anyway, that's why you're so pathetic. Cleveland doesn't want or need yea. Just remember what your saying whenever you come downtown to go to one of the many good restaurants, go to a sporting event, to a play, or show. Cleveland needs the losers who tucked their tales and ran in the "Great White Flight". By the way you can park for free at the RTA stations and take the rapid or bus, you'd save gas if you moved downtown, the property value is strong downtown, there wouldn't be as many "thugs" if people with money moved downtown, the bums well don't give'm anything, you wimps, "Just say No" is it so hard. I mean really what good are you living in the burbs, your boring pathetic life, going to PTA meetings and talking your gossip. Get a life, do something that would be of some help for once. In my opinion you are in the abyss, an abyss of suburban lifestyle where you don't care about anyone else and are completely out of touch with reality.
  3. I was wondering what were in the buildings that are not listed on East 4ths website. Whats in the buildings that house: Wonder Bar Chinato La Strada and now Dredger Union? Condos? Offices? Come to think of it, whats above the greenhouse tavern and house of blues as well? Thanks
  4. ^ Edit that. Here is the link http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2011/01/designer_retailer_plan_dredger.html And awesome news!
  5. Percentage of people who take public transportation to work Cleveland: 59th at 12% Cincinnati: 74th at 10.1% It would be nice to see these numbers go up this census No other Ohio cities made the list which means they have under 7.8% at the best. http://www.statjump.com/lists/commuting-public-dp3c34tc.html Also Interesting to see that in Annual delays per traveler in 2008(Somewhat old information) Cincinnati: 27 Hours Cleveland 13 Hours Columbus 33 Hours Toledo 15 Hours Great compared to: Los Angeles with 72 hours Atlanta with 60 hours. Detroit with 54 hours

Just wait till you go up there at night and look south, walking up to the window was one of the coolest experiences. Unfortunately I had a crappy camera that couldn't take good pictures at night, especially through glass.

87% of Ohio's population is white. 24 appointees so far, out of how many total? Not to mention we're talking about Republican appointments; really, there aren't a whole lot of black republicans for Kasich to pick from. There would be outrage if Obama chose two dozen black cabinet members, as it would be clearly motivated by race. What Kasich has done makes sense, statistically; it's clearly not racially motivated. I have to agree with that.

$62,000 to help run a state seems a bit low. Maybe a little more money will give them more motivation to do a good job. And If I were in charge of some company, ad lets say I was going to hire an accountant, and I had a friend who I knew was really good, follows all the rules, and we get a long, I would most likely hire him instead of hiring some random person and hoping it works out. Im not a fan of the guy at all, I hate what he did with the 3C project, but with this, I dont see a problem. Almost everybody in any field of work hires people that they have some connection with if they know they can get the job done. Its life.

I would highly recommend doing the hop on hop off double decker bus tours. Its a great way to move throughout the city and to get nice historical facts, and facts like, hey Oprah lives here. When I was on it we saw Vince Vaughn walking. Anyways I had a great time and the view from the top of the bus is something special. And I also highly recommend doing the John Hancock Observation deck instead of the willis(sears) tower. And if you can, do it at night. You will be blown away!
  14. did they have to "break ground" for certain monetary reasons?? It was probably really nothing.

  21. My one grandfather grew up on a street on the opposite side of chester on East 55th before they extended it. My other Grandpa grew up in Collinwood by where the stadium is now on East 148th, his house is also demolished. My Grandma lived by Nottingham circle, I believe her house still stands but altered. This is her dad at the age of 30 Both of my grandmas participated in fashion shows in the Higbees ballrooms. Both of my grandpas took the streets cars throughout the city by themselves around the age of 6. Imagine a 6 year old getting on a bus by them self today. Ill try to get pictures of the houses up later. Please feel free to share.
