I just saw that in 1930, Cleveland had 12,718 people per square mile. Today we have 6,166.5 per square mile That was also the same year in which Los Angles had a larger population then us but with only 2,812 per square mile. In the 2000 census los angeles densed up a little. And Detroits density cut in half. Los angeles: 7,876.4 People/Sq. mile Houston: 3,371.8 People/Sq. mile Phoenix: 2,781.7 People/Sq. mile San Diego: 3,772.4 People/Sq. mile Dallas: 3,470.3 People/Sq. mile San Antonio: 2,808.3 People/Sq. mile Chicago, New York and Philadelphia looked good though with Chicago: 12,752.2 People/Sq. mile New York: 26,403.8 People/Sq. mile Philadelphia: 11,232.8 People/Sq. mile

6. I honestly dont think I could live without these wonderful lists Where Home Prices Are Falling Dangerously Of America's largest urban housing markets, Cleveland seems to be deteriorating the most. Home prices in Cleveland dropped a frightening 3% in September alone, according to S&P/Case-Shiller, and are now 1.9% lower than they were a year ago. Like much of the rest of Ohio, Cleveland hasn't found replacements for the manufacturing jobs lost over the past decade starting from the 2001 recession. The unemployment rate in Cuyahoga County, which includes Cleveland, was 9.2% in April. These days it's at 9.7%... http://www.forbes.com/2010/12/10/cleveland-minneapolis-chicago-housing-business-washington-home-prices.html

Then she turns around
8. That seems like a big problem. Does anybody who lives in Tremont have anything to say? How apparent is it?

10. wow ill have to see it. Im also surprised the last one was temporary.
11. I mean it shows that in the past 6 months there has been like 29 breaking and entering crimes. That seems a litte high though
12. Profiling does not occur because they check everyone. I dont know how anyone can bring race into this.
13. For those of you who live in either Ohio City or Tremont, how relative or apparent is the crime in your neighborhood. Just looking at crime reports, it appears that there is a fairly large amount of crime that occurs in those neighborhoods. What is your view on the crime from the view of someone actually living there?
14. Imagine you getting that much for performing your job that poorly
15. How the hell were they allowed to challenge that incomplete pass and call it a fumble? The whistle was blown right away and the Browns did not go after the ball because of that. So how can you call it a fumble and give the ball to buffalo? I believe that is unchallengable and should be looked at by the NFL.
16. Im not leaving the state over a train like some have said but it sure does piss me off. Just like im not going to stop watching the Browns no matter how bad they play.
17. Okay i think i found it. There are some nice houses there. But there seems to be a few with boarded up windows with poor yards. Maybe they aren't like that anymore.
18. Thanks! Are you talking about that little section of houses right in the middle of UH on E115?
19. Yeah ive seen those ones, they are definitely nice. I passed by a several weeks ago on the bus and noticed someone was doing a rehab on one of the houses on the east side of the road.
20. Thanks guys! And hts121, do you any specific streets i could check? Also are they restored or are they somewhat run down?
21. You also a significantly larger population of hispanics on the west side.
22. Instead of extending the waterfront line which could have several large obstacles, how about we build a streetcar downtown loop. It could look something like that. 1. The convention center stop could serve the new convention center, medical mart, and malls. 2. The west 6th street stop could help the businesses on that street as well as possibly help fill in those lots. 3. The tower city stop would serve tower city, the casino, hotels, offices, as well as connecting to other RTA lines and public square. 4. The prospect/east 4th station would serve east 4th, gateway, as well as possibly help revitalize the buildings and storefronts along prospect. 5. The Hanna theater stop could help energize that corner as well as serve the hanna theater goers. 6. The Playhouse square/CSU would serve both CSU students as well as the rest of the theaters and businesses in that area. 7. The reserve square stop could help possibly fill in those lots and serve area residents and the hotel. 8. The Perk Park stop would serve the new park as well as area businesses. 9. The East 9th street stop would serve the business on the street as well as provide access to the library and surrounding businesses. It could also make the street more attractive to new businesses.
23. I would guess the 2000 census but im not sure.
24. Almost all of the neighborhoods on the east side are black by a huge, unhealthy margin. There are some neighborhoods on the west side that have that unhealthy margin going the other direction but in general the west side is more diverse. But also mostly white. And todays Cleveland is mostly black, largely carried by the east side neighborhoods.
25. Multiple transit authorities use GPS tracking and make it available online. This shouldn't be a hard thing to do and should be a priority for RTA, IMO. Also, I feel like we were sold a bag of lies as far as the HealthLine signal preemption goes. There seems to have been zero effort to ever use preemptive signaling. They seem to have attempted to time the lights to make the trip as fast as possible, but this has been a total disaster. I sometimes notice that the busses have a "green" light when they are in the station, and then when they are done boarding they have a "red" light and have to sit through the whole rotation. Is there anyway that the bus could create a "yellow" light while in the station and then a "green light when they are ready to go. This would speed up the trip immensely. Or would that have to big of an affect on other traffic?
