  1. KJP, how much time would be saved on routes by removing the smaller, less used stations such as Elyria?
  2. ^ Is that really a movement? I think the K-5, 6-8, 9-12 model works good.

Mainly the Cleveland transportation threads are what get bad. Current Event section gets bad but Im not in that section that often. But thinking back on things, the transportation section is where most of the problems occur.
  4. The only time I see RTA cops is at tower city and on Chester giving out parking tickets. They are hardly ever on the Healthline or Red Line or at any other station.
  5. ^ was... He can't even make a team
  6. Thank you for posting those
  7. Are there any renderings/master plans of this?
  8. I think a Chipotle and Menchies would do great here, especially with all the college kids. They would be perfect places to open here as this area on Chester could use some life, and both of these places are big draws which would definitely add life to the street. Because of the location, these places need to be something people seek out, which both of these places are. I don't think a local place would do well here. And on a lesser note, although stupid, it could help attract more students to CSU. When touring campus, prospective students will now see new buildings and possibly a Chipotle, Menchies, and Pizza Hut right on campus. A couple years ago they would have saw a parking lot. Which is the bigger draw?
  9. RTA Ridership has been going up a lot the past three or so years, hasn't it? I'm not sure what the numbers are and I'd look it up but I'm on my phone now, but I remember hearing that the rapid ridership has especially increased from year-to-year. Sounds like a excellent trend that's only going to get better as we develop more. Ive been meaning to reply to this but havent been able to get to my computer in days. Things have been busy. Anyways here are some ridership stats. Systemwide 1976 115,292,977 1977 121,621,862 5.49% 1978 122,864,475 1.02% 1979 125,890,860 2.46% 1980 129,691,743 3.02% 1981 120,865,879 -6.81% 1982 110,622,417 -8.48% 1983 89,083,949 -19.47% 1984 89,341,174 0.29% 1985 86,156,907 -3.56% 1986 80,688,287 -6.35% 1987 78,035,640 -3.29% 1988 75,206,868 -3.62% 1989 68,516,771 -8.90% 1990 72,869,669 6.35% 1991 67,906,688 -6.81% 1992 64,320,599 -5.28% 1993 60,085,236 -6.58% 1994 60,289,244 0.34% 1995 58,266,246 -3.36% 1996 58,657,764 0.67% 1997 60,901,337 3.82% 1998 60,557,584 -0.56% 1999 59,303,747 -2.07% 2000 59,191,175 -0.19% 2001 57,752,620 -2.43% 2002 52,706,142 -8.74% 2003 53,515,066 1.53% 2004 55,498,840 3.71% 2005 57,097,400 2.88% 2006 57,246,000 0.26% 2007 57,322,600 0.13% 2008 57,977,574 1.14% 2009 49,870,000 -13.98% 2010 44,680,000 -10.41% 2011 46,200,000 3.40% 2012 48,152,700 4.23% As for the Red Line, I have back to 1995 and it is currently at its highest during that time period. Still not as high as a rail line should be, but its a start I suppose.
  10. That same principle probably explains why the Gold Coast area of Lakewood is also declining. Terrible decision to not have retail on Cliton over there. It really is a shame that our rail system does not really provide a true urban experience. Because of this most(not all) people living in Tremont,Ohio City, etc. still drive to work, downtown or elsewhere. I think this hurts out neighborhoods ability to grow(faster), especially paired with our low density.
  11. I used to think this building was hideous, but it grew on me. It's actually my favorite from that era. Its actually unique, unlike all the other boxes.
  12. Looking back, the bathroom trips were ridiculous. You were expected to go when they took you as a class. If you had to go 45 minutes later they'd all be like "why didn't you go earlier when we went with the class". Because I didn't have to then!
  13. I think that was my experience as well. Waiting in your numbered bus line seems to stick in my memory also.
  14. Yeah but it is annoying that this new tunnel has already been vandalized twice. I agree with KJP. I hope they put cameras up. Maybe that will stop the issue.

I think it has become less informative/interesting because people have stopped posting as often. Way less picture threads it seems. Probably because no one hardly comments on them so people stopped wasting their time. That's where a "like" button could be useful. Most posting traffic is in the polical/current events section as city discussions constantly get axed because people can't remain civil. So now we have to wait for projects to happen to have something to talk about. Why are city discussions well moderated/overly moderated(suspend users, don't lock/delete thread), while the project section, current events section, and transportation section are free for alls?

I'll admit I'm not on the Cincinnati or Columbus sections much so I'm not sure how things are over there, but the Cleveland sections are bad. Most of the biggest offenders are from the Cleveland area so that probably explains why.
  17. Although I think the design is terrible, I'm not too worked up over it since it is at the edge of the city on a dead end street, extremely isolated from everything, in a suburban looking area, and I'll never have to see this thing in person! Based on location this design is almost expected.
  18. What is going on with this site? It is becoming more and more common for members to post insulting, attacking posts to/about other members. When did this become an ok thing to do? We have gone from civil adult conversations about projects, issues, and discussions about Ohio cities to most of the posts being back and forth insults because people have different opinions. It has become uncivil and new members are pushed away or stop posting. Same goes for long time members. It began with just a few members but it has gone unchecked and more and more people feel the need to include insults in their posts. Additionally moderators on several occasions have participated in this behavior or have even started it. Another issue I have is people purposefully posting links to crazy opinion pieces and acting as if they are legitimate news in order to create conflict and cause pointless uncivil debate. This is especially true in the political/current events sections which gets carried into the rest of the forum as people like to insult others on past political statements in topics completely unrelated. Unfortunately moderators participate in this behavior as well and often times post it themselves. It has gotten to the point where you can’t even enter a development topic without seeing insults or rude remarks. Fortunately most members are great and do not participate in this behavior, act kindly to new members, as well as old, and politely share their opinions without resulting in pathetic behavior. Unfortunately a few can ruin it for everyone, and if this continues to go unchecked, the numbers will grow and this forum will suffer from it.
  19. I can't wait for the day this thing is completed. I pray the groundfloor space is used to its best potential(something we fail to do here) Seems like its been forever since I heard about this project.
  20. Yeah they are for the garage. They are pretty far along
  21. ^ that's cheating! The 2012 season is already over! ;)
