Correct, and neither was the Chrysler Building (which was completed about 9 month before the Empire State Building). They weren't completed yet but they were still taller at the point of the terminal towers completion The Terminal Tower was completed in 1928 (although the Cleveland Union Terminal complex didn't fully open until 1930). Construction didn't begin on the Empire State Building until 1929. Construction on the Chrysler Building was from 1928 to 1930, so I doubt that at the time the Terminal Tower was completed that the Chrysler Building topped 708 feet. Your right. I was thinking 1930

Everytime I read a story on Cleveland.com I try to stay away from reading the comments but I just can't help myself and I end up reading what the idiots say anyways. I know almost everyone on here agrees about how annoying those comments are. I wish they would make it so you couldn't comment. It would be great to finnaly shut those people up. Now everyone else can rant if they'd like.
  20. Whats the name of this building? John Hartness Brown. It's a complex of ~3 buildings (1000 - 1021 Euclid). Thanks. Are they doing anything to it? Those buildings were awarded state tax credits towards rehabilitation. The plan is to restore the buildings and convert them to residences with retail below. there was actually a point when the developer had all his financing in place (and miraculously it was all private), and they were just waiting on the tax credits to get moving. And then sometime shortly before the tax credits were awarded one of the major investors backed out, which lead to a sort of dominoe effect. So now the developer, like many, is trying to obtain financing to get the project going again. It's not clear whether he is interested in selling the project to another developer or not yet. thanks again for the information. It would be great to see this project come to life
