Cleveland: Transit Ideas for the Future
I've seen an expansion plan, which I don't think I've seen on here, that showed about 10(I think, it's been awhile) new BRT and BRT lite routes. 0 rail. That to me is a huge disappointment, as I personally am not a fan of BRT and feel it is overrated. And it shows that is also they can think about.

I think some of you are forgetting the Red Line doesn't serve a large portion of our region. The OC will also benefit those to the south and the south near west. A park and ride can be established to UC by way of the opportunity corridor. So again how is that competing with the Red Line? And what is soo great about people driving their car 20 minutes to a rapid station to take the train the rest of the way. Also funny sidenote, many on here hate suburbanites. But without them the Red Line would practically have no ridership. That's why the line sort of sucks because its main purpose is that of a park and ride. It will reach its ridership limit very soon once the parking lots fill up. Also this money can't be spent on anything else and if not here, it will be spent elsewhere. Those arguing to spend it elsewhere were the same people making fun of Kasich and calling him dumb for trying to spend the 3C rail money on something else, resulting in us losing it. And for those who don't like the pictures I posted, please prove how wonderful the residential neighborhood is and how great the commercial streets are instead of occusing me to have some secret agenda. And while your at it prove how it divides the neighborhood. Personally I think this is a massive waste of money. But I'd rather have this money spent here than in Columbus.

If they are working they probably have money. at least for transportation to work. If money is tight why spend that money when you can easily walk 15 minutes or take a short 5 minute bike ride? More convenient and free.

^ $$$ or time. It could be faster to walk/bike than wait 20 minutes for the next train.

Here is an aerial view then above the would be route of the OC. This is the fastest walking route from those houses to the Orlando Bakery Factory. The Opportunity Corridor wont divide this neighborhood.

^ Thats not manipulating the situation. That is what is there. I showed a wide variety, from empty land, to houses, to trash, etc. That pretty much shows the condition of the area besides for the industrial waste zones further east. If anything your words are manipulating the situation by calling it a highway.

Now you're trying to justify what "type" of highway this is. This. Is. A. Highway! Period. This will not help the people in those neighborhoods, but only further divide them! Im not sure you can call that a neighborhood. Also saying the road will divide them is a lie. That area is terrible connected because of the railroads. The OC will provide a central boulevard connecting these sections by road, foot, and bike. This road will greatly improve connection in the "neighborhood"- Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
What about bigger punishments for these crimes committed at public festivals. If fighting all of the sudden had a bigger punishment, it might not be as cool to do, and troublemakers might stay away. Also this is terrible for the perception of these areas. People not familiar with these areas continue to see news coverage like this that will only keep them away.- Cleveland: Transit Ideas for the Future
Their day pass costs about $10, ours cost $5. So it evens out for two adults. Plus the multiple people on one pass only works for the weekend if I remember correctly. It is a problem though. For our rail, which is often times less convenient, buying multiple day passes for a group makes it more expensive as well.- Cleveland-Lakewood: Enhance Clifton Transit Project
I've heard that line before. :|- Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
It will be interesting to see. The one in University Circle seems to be doing well. They get good traffic from Case, UH, and area visitors. The Ohio City location doesn't have the University or the workforce, but it does have the attraction of the West Side Market. Hopefully it draws those customers further down west 25th, because currently, they oddly don't go much further north than the market itself.- Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
It's hard to deny a change is happening. Shaker Heights had to cancel their 4th of July fireworks due to fights. It's a shame.- Cleveland: Random Development and News
Cars already took over the streets. Now they are taking over the sidewalks!!!! What's next, restaurants that you drive through! ;)- Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I could see the lack of families as a locational problem. And being more at the edge of the neighborhood. Possibly being on a less traveled street too.- Cleveland: Retail News
I don't get why it would be a problem anywhere. Seems more like a prejudice against tattoos if anything.- Cleveland Area TOD Discussion
I wouldn't leave out the parking lot completely. That is arguably the best location for TOD on that map.- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
If they want to do that, go ahead and pay for it yourself. We already put enough money into it. I'm tired of citizens subsiding sports so a few can get rich, while the rest of us are miserable watching a terrible product. If anything, our bad sports teams have hurt the city's image over the years more than it has helped it. But for some dumb reason I still like watching the games lol. I'd prefer we spent the money on things with a greater return. Like helping developers build residential downtown.- so my username was deleted...that's nice!
What neighborhood did you choose? I don't remember. Also do you mind sharing the issues you have had if they aren't personal?- Cleveland: Downtown: Truman Building & Security Federal Building Restoration
Off topic but funny. Maybe this one should have it's own Twitter as well. Located on the backside of the Flatiron Cafe. The building on star plaza in playhouse square wins. It has TWO trees! Edit:(Is there anyway the forum could bring back collapsed pictures in quotes? It was better because you didn't have to delete the picture, and it would keep the forum cleaner looking. Plus the picture would still be there for reference which is better than deleting it. )- Cleveland: Little Italy: Development and News
A new wine bar opened in Little Italy earlier this month I believe, or maybe end of june. Ive noticed work going on inside for awhile now but no mention of it on here or in the news. It has been a relatively quite open. I went there a few weeks ago and really liked it. I think it is a great addition to the neighborhood. Great atmosphere. The inside is great and the night we went they had a live music. In the bar they have a grand piano and an older white man was playing/singing while his partner, an older black man(the hostility of the past really is gone) was playing some sort of horn instrument I believe. I really hope this place does well, and gets some press! http://www.vinoveritaslittleitaly.com/ From their website- Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
Brownfields can present a variety of underground surprises, chemical or otherwise. I'm not sure why they'd have to dig that deep for a skate park though. It may have just been exploratory, to find anything that needs dealt with before it's all covered in concrete. How deep would those things be? This is a below grade cement skatepark which probably also requires drainage.- Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
That sucks. I wonder if this will become more of a problem if any other part of the more industrial flats gets developed.- Website Status Update
You probably already know of this problem, but just in case you didnt, the forum stops working a lot throughout the day. It also keeps logging me off. Sorry :|- Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
