  1. Are we sure Cleveland has a higher downtown population than Indianapolis? What are the Indianapolis numbers? And Indianapolis does have far better downtown retail which might help the restaurant scene stay open on Sundays.
  2. Thanks for sharing. I love seeing project photo updates!
  3. Funny how they dropped Vickers for Marecic. They said Vickers cant catch and Marecic would be perfect for the system since he could. We lost a great lead blocker who played a major role in Jerome Harrisons big games, and Peyton Hillis good season for a guy who cant catch or block. That was a terrible decision from day one. Vickers wanted to stay here too.
  4. Cleveland representing! lol. It would be nice to see more american flags at the top of that list. Some of those ridership numbers are crazy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metro_systems_by_annual_passenger_rides
  5. With about 4286 units downtown, and a population of 6,312, it comes out to about 1.5 people per unit. 668 Euclid Avenue and the Langston Phase 1 are not included, so that is about another 447 people, bringing downtowns total to about 6759. With that formula, the Hanna Annex, Chester Commons, Reserve Square, and 1717 East 9th, will add about 873 people to downtown, bringing the total up to 7632. The langston seems to be adding about 2 people per unit, so when phase 2 is done that could bring in an additional 520 people, bring up the total to 8152.
  6. Thanks guys! @CLE618, I thought Heritage Hall was run more like apartments, but I agree with you that it should be considered dorms so I changed it on the map. Thanks! @Murray Hill, I have the Langston broken up by phase. The first phase is in yellow since it is completed and has 48 units. The second phase is in orange, since its still under construction and has 260 units. I wasn't sure if these were numbers 100% correct but that is what I found on here. Does phase two have 308 units alone? @stpats44113, Thanks, and im surprised I missed that one. Ive added it to the map. Do you know how many units it has?
  7. Not sure where to put this Restaurateur Pete Leneghan looking to bring horse-drawn carriages to downtown Cleveland CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland City Council is considering a proposal by a local restaurant owner to lease unused portions of the Cleveland Police Mounted Unit Stables near downtown for carriage horses. Pete Leneghan, an owner of Stone Mad Pub in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood, said he wasn't ready yet to share his plans publicly. But Leneghan, who has a hand in several successful area eateries, also has a history in the horse-drawn carriage business. He owned a medallion -- a special license to operate a horse carriage -- and served customers in Central Park for 18 years. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2012/10/restauranter_looking_to_bring.html
  8. I have just updated this map. I added a new category. [glow=red,2,300]Yellow - Current Apartments/Condos [/glow]Orange - Underway/Final Planning stages Green - Planned Conversions Purple - Dorms Red - Public Housing http://tinyurl.com/DowntownCleveland
  9. Thanks for sharing! I thought the same thing. People built it up and when I got over there I was very disappointed. I loved my visit and the city, but overall their downtown has a sort of dirty feel to it as well.
  10. So your saying the view of the city from the lake would be better with it gone? /not following the scar angle. Im not someone who really cares about how the city looks from far away. That massive bridge is a scar on the West Bank of the Flats, East Bank of the Flats, and Warehouse district. Those neighborhoods would function a lot better if the bridge was gone.
  11. Between West 65th and West 25th there really is not any reason to slow it down IMO. I would love to see it become street level, and 25 mph once it hits West 25th heading east. It would become a widened Main Avenue, which will go into a lift bridge over to the east bank of the flats. From there traffic would go up Main Avenue through the Warehouse District, and Main Avenue would then connect with Lakeside. The bridge over the tracks, south of the stadium would be removed, and everything from West 3rd to dead mans curve would be converted into a 35 mph boulevard.
  12. Here is a good list of bands that have been ignored. http://www.goldminemag.com/article/10-bands-snubbed-by-the-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame
  13. It would be an amazing day to see that scar on the City of Cleveland removed.
  14. I went Nordstrom Rack once with my girlfriend. I didnt think the deals were that great. I literally saw a tag that said "a savings of $0.00, thats 0% off!" And another one that was $0.30 off. Most seemed to be in the $3 to $5 range.
  15. Webcam for the construction on Chester http://www.csuohio.edu/offices/architect/webcam/studenthouse.html
  16. I agree. And somewhere on here I have broken these numbers down to show the real situation downtown. Some people say 12,000, when in reality its more like 7,000.
  17. ^ I was thinking the same thing when I saw that picture. Thanks for sharing Clueless!
  18. Whats the chances of this thing passing?
  19. I think it took me about 30 minutes to get from Public Square to Uptown on the Healthline the other day. And speaking of the Red Line, I really wish it would have served the Cleveland Clinic and Cleveland State University. Its ridership could be so much higher if most of the route didn't suck. It misses a lot of major attractions and traffic generators.
  20. This station will be great.
  21. Added the Casino to the post that started this thread. That KJP I just added them. I only used Browns and Indians figures though, not additional events.
