  1. Lets just hope Randy's true love has always been baseball and he is selling the Browns so that he can buy the Indians and own a team in a sport where his money actually matters.
  2. Oh I have always thought the port had operations over there as well for some reason.. I know it wouldnt be popular, but if that was true, Id rather have that land given to the port in exchange for additional land north of downtown and west of the stadium. I view that land as much more valuable than the wendy park land.
  3. I think I remember that as well. That would be a shame. That building is a great look into Cleveland's past, and would make for a great conversion.

I would love to see this done to Superior avenue downtown. And http://averagejoecyclist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Burrard-Dunsmuir-128.jpg

If a car runs 10 red lights and makes other vehicles slam on their breaks in near misses, I guarantee they would get arrested/ticketed. What those people did on their bikes is obnoxious. They could have caused several accidents, as well as hurt others. Im not saying motorists are better overall, but all vehicles should follow the road laws and respect others around them. Imagine being a pedestrian crossing the street and having those bikes swarm past you almost hitting you. Now add a child to the mix with you crossing the street.

Wow, that video. Those people arent doing anything good for biking besides putting themselves and others in danger, not following the road laws, and pissing people off. I didn't know that was in Cincinnati at first. I didn't realize the city had so many skywalks.
  7. Just wondering how the Wendy Park land isnt owned by the port, since it is basically surrounded by their operations?
  8. I have kind of been interested in checking Savannah out. It looks like an amazing city from what I have seen online, and it looks like the core is growing. Anybody else have any opinion on this city. I never really thought a city in the south could be so badass lol. And does anyone have an opinion on cities in Switzerland? Such as Zurich? I havent been there either but it looks like a cool place to visit as well.
  9. The Langston buildings looks alot better in person in my opinion. They will definitely have a huge impact on that area. It was also nice to see that phases doesn't have to mean, we might never get around to the later phases, like it has in many cases. The middle building has framework of two floors already, and I saw that the easternmost group of buildings already has the foundation started. This project is definitely moving along, and fast!
  10. ^ When I was in pittsburgh, their subway seemed to always have great ridership at all times of the day, and witha good variety of people. Im not sure what their ridership numbers are, or if its always like that, but it was a very nice experience when I was there.
  11. Yeah here are examples of houses that fit your demands. Not urban, but both are very close to the airport, are safe, and are located very close to a lot of shopping. http://www.rentalhomesplus.com/Ohio/North-Olmsted/4bdr-2-bth-cape-cod/934482?p=Padmapper&frontdoor=Padmapper&partner=Padmapper http://www.butternutridgeapartments.com/Apartments/module/property_floorplans/property[id]/13311/
  12. Which area of Cleveland is your husbands potential job located? Downtown? We can better help you with that information as well as budget. Welcome to Cleveland hopefully!
  13. What I can see is that Cleveland State owns the building, Rascal house owns that small parking lot on Euclid next to their building. The rascal house building is owned by Frangos and the rest is owned by the State of Ohio?

  16. It may have changed for TOL-SYR, which is what those fares are for. Summer fares are often more expensive than fall/winter fares, which is when that was published. Please note the sentence in my column: "Unfortunately the return train leaves Toledo after 3 a.m. but could be moved to an 11:30 p.m. departure by year’s end." That schedule change will not occur until major construction is done along the Capitol Limited route. When it is done, the Capitol is due to leave Chicago later (about 7:30 p.m.) and the Lake Shore will depart earlier at about 6 p.m., roughly the slot currently occupied by the Capitol. That will put it into Toledo about 11-11:30 p.m. I also checked in the winter and those were the same prices. But that schedule change is still happening then? How will that affect Cleveland?
  17. The McCrory buildings on East 4th look pretty similar. It's too bad CSU got held up. This the building we're discussing? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Wolfe_Music_Building.jpg Interesting, but I personally dont see the comparison mainly because the point on the top, the facade materials looks different, and then the storefront and window designs. But yes that is the building we are discussing. The closest looking building I can think of is the alescis building, but still they have completely different architectural features.
  18. Did things change, because currently it cost $61 each way for a total of $122.00, not $61 for round trip. If you want to add a roomette for both trips, it brings the total up to $587.00. Add the rental car like you said and you are up to $662. And thats still leaves you arriving in Toledo at 5:55 am! And has you leaving Toledo at 3:20 am! And I understand the conflict with flying for those markets, but for larger cities, its not a problem
  19. Good work! There really is no other building like that in the city that I can think of.
  20. Why would they get rid of Acapella. I wonder what their plans are for that little space.
  21. I know, but if I go, I would like the whole experience! Atleast once. Future trips I would probably just pack my own. The trip there departs from Cleveland at 2:59 AM and arrives in Chicago at 8:45 AM. That trip you would probably miss all meals. But might be able to get a sandwich or pizza in the snack car? If you are still awake lol. The trip home departs from Chicago at 6:10 PM, and arrives back in Cleveland at 12:59 AM. This trip you would definitely be able to experience the diner car, and some daylight in the observation car. Just found this on their website during the ticket buying process. "Lunch reservations are taken from 11:30 am - 3 pm; dinner reservations are taken from 5 pm - 9 pm." And this for the snack car. "Food service is normally available from early morning until late evening, except during a few short periods as announced by the attendant. Hours of operation vary depending on train operation."
  22. Cleveland Browns close to being sold to Tennessee businessman Jimmy Haslam III, team guaranteed not to move CLEVELAND -- The Browns are close to being sold to Tennessee businessman Jimmy Haslam, a minority owner of the Steelers, and there's a guarantee the team won't move from Cleveland. (This is updated from previous versions of the story.) In a press conference today Browns President Mike Holmgren confirmed that owner Randy Lerner "will give up controlling interest in the team." "An unconditional guarantee was given that the Browns would not move before talks could even start,'' a league source told the Plain Dealer. http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2012/07/cleveland_browns_owner_randy_l_3.html
  23. Do you know how late the dining car stays open?
  24. Do Cleveland passengers get screwed out of any opportunity to use the dining or snack cars since we are picked up and ride through the middle of the night? What are the hours that food is served? I cant seem to find that online anywhere.
