I cant imagine they would do that, or would be allowed to ruin a historic space.

Cleveland: Cleveland Institute of Art Expansion
Im not sure if the second one is a place for art, or a place to park.

Detroit Superior Bridge
Nice pictures. I wish they would remove those wooden boards on the ground though. I always like the original experience of walking across and being able to look down at the river below.

Cleveland: University Circle: Centric Development (formerly Intesa)
Good eye. Its never been mentioned before and the earlier renderings didn't show it. Either they changed their plans or never fully showed them. That is a great improvement and I can definitely get excited about that. Actually I think I remember a major garage entrance on mayfield road in their original renderings which I was extremely disappointed with.

Suburban Sprawl News & Discussion
The problem is that outside certain pockets, which still face many of these issues themselves, all of these things still exist. Their is still higher crime, their is still alot of decay, and most of Cleveland is getting worse, and the schools still mostly suck. And on top of that, suburbs are still promoted, their are still tons of jobs in the suburbs, and the highways still exist and are adding additional lanes to the suburban parts. Yes certain pockets are doing better, such as Ohio City, Tremont, Little Italy, Downtown, University Circle, and Gordon Square. But thats really just a small portion when you really look at it, and even those areas still face those problems. I would love to see the city come back, and I think we have made some great improvements. One thing that I think might hurt the growth is the spreading out of the focus. Honestly, North Collinwood is far away from Downtown/University Circle, not great access to public transportation, and isnt surrounded by the best areas, and areas that are continuing to decline. Does fixing it up really benefit the city? Those urban minded people would have chosen somewhere else in the city. We still have other areas of the city, Ohio City, Tremont, etc, that still need a lot of work. If we focused our efforts in one area, we could achieve one amazing urban area that will then begin to spill over in the surrounding neighborhoods. Even Detroit Shoreway has taken people away from Ohio City, Tremont, Downtown, and Little Italy.

Great find! I dont believe it has ever been posted. This project would be perfect if it wasn't for the garage facing Mayfield Road. Other than that, I love it.

Cleveland: Innerbelt News
Imagine the train cult with all that money and power though! Ha!

Cleveland: Innerbelt News
That was part of my suggestion for the Inner Belt, but I didn't think of it early enough to build enough political interest to have it vetted by ODOT. Planning had already advanced too far by then.... Damnit KJP! Why didn't you think of it earlier! :D And when are you going to take over ODOT. We need you!

Finding an apartment in Ohio City, Cleveland
It might be somewhat difficult to find something that large, but someone who lives in the neighborhood might be of more help. If that doesn't work out, I think Little Italy would be a great option. Its a short distance from the Cleveland Clinic, and has good access to public transportation with the Red Line right there and the Healthline just a short walk away. You would be surrounded with plenty of restaurants, and be really close to uptown, which has a good sized grocery store, and will also have several other local restaurants and quick eats like chipotle. Good luck! Although I prefer Little Italy, Cedar Fairmount, also a great place, is right up the hill from Little Italy and might be a good fit as well, and could be easier to find a place. Here is an example. Listing http://apps.facebook.com/marketplace/detail/apartment-for-rent-in-cleveland-heights-oh/3095548440-cleveland-heights-oh/?cm_mmc=FB_PREVIEW-_-www-_-NA-_-NA&rfb_domain=facebook.oodle.com Streetview http://goo.gl/maps/vjqw

Cleveland: Innerbelt News
This will probably come off as a dumb question, but why dont people just take the Clark Freeway bridge instead. It would save a lot of money, and wouldnt require us to build another bridge.

Cleveland: Historic Photos
Its cool to see the sherwin williams sign, which looks a lot like their advertising today. Subway entrance The subway entrance used during Ingenuity and other events. Looks a bit different than today. Another subway entrance. Still standing today. South side of Superior between West Prospect and West Huron, where the large black building is today.

Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
^ No link, but in print... Cleveland Heights 2010/2011 Murder 2/1 Rape 1/7 Robbery 68/45 Assault 75/167 Burglary 161/287 Larceny 161/705 Vehicle Theft 88/24 So the the less frequent crimes went down, while assault, burglary, and larceny had large increases. Still, Cleveland Heights compares fairly well with other cities when you look at crime rate.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
The first one you don't see until you are almost on the train.....90% of the people who might like to take a train into downtown will never see that sign. That sign would be better than the 1 and I do mean 1 sign you see on the concourse... that says RTA and has that little logo which can be confused with other logos.... And really how hard is it to Say TRAIN instead of RAPID TRANSIT......everybody knows what a train is. and it is a train....why make this more complicated than it needs to be. When I learned both French (high school) and Spanish (college) learning the words associated with Trains and train stations was one of the first lessons beyond counting, months/days/years they taught you. The second one...you have never been to Cleveland you see RTA.....tell me what that means...GO! And are you even sure that last letter is an A? because it sure looks like a mirror of the first letter which you think is an R....maybe it is a stylized logo and it is RTR. The big RTA sign is right next to first sign I believe, so for people who are familiar its right there and its big and bright. Like Ive said, Ive never been in the airport concourse, so that is where the major lack of signage problem is.

2011 Population Estimates
2010 Census makes me believe we will continue to see big losses and that these estimates will be found to be not true. Wasn't Cincinnati expecting gains in the 2010 census? Well we know that didn't happen. And Cleveland was worse off than the estimates.
