Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
I have it at 6,135 according to census numbers. Im guessing that number is getting closer to 6,500 now Thanks. Hopefully we'll keep building to get to 10,000 and then 25. I've heard Chris Ronayne say that they have roughly 10,000 people in UC. I wonder what other neighborhoods he's counting in that. Does that 6,135 number you have count students too? Yes it includes students. I recounted using borders I found here http://media.cleveland.com/business_impact/photo/10264606-large.jpg I still only came up with 7,612 and that is with Little Italy included, so I strayed slightly from the map in that case only. Kind of weird that both Downtown and University Circle claim that they have 10,000 residents when its just not true.

Cleveland: Downtown: Jack Cleveland Casino - Phase 2
Why? You rather see the Higbee building sit vacant for years unlit creating a dead spot like it has been? And the money not coming in to the city? And we got the excitement of being the first to open in the state.

Also its nice to see that in a couple months, there will be atleast 185 new build market rate housing units built since 2011. Not including Little Italy.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
^ Good to see! And on their facebook page, Hazel8 told someone they are looking at early August 2012 for occupancy! Also wondering if this ever happened? From March... "WXZ Development Inc. will build rentals as the last phase of Circle 118, a for-sale townhouse project at East 118th and Euclid Avenue. The Fairview Park developer plans to start construction next month on 10 apartments in a three-story building." Also did RTA approve this? They better have lol "And the company is trying to buy nearby land from the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, for a 20-apartment development. The transit agency's board is set to vote Tuesday on the potential sale, of 0.38 acres for $147,500. Once a bus waiting zone and turn-around, the property has not been used for years.........the company hopes to start construction on 20 apartments in late 2012 or early 2013 - if the transit agency approves the deal." http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2012/03/wxz_development_plans_30_apart.html

Cleveland: Little Italy: Development and News
The foundation is being built for the house on Random Road. I cant find any renderings though. Also is there a plan for 2018 Murray Hill?

Cleveland: TV / Film Industry News
I didnt think anything of it, but there was a food truck parked on Mayfield Road in Little Italy yesterday with film crews around it. EDIT: http://www.newsnet5.com/dpp/news/local_news/cleveland_metro/great-food-truck-race-comes-to-cleveland

Cleveland: Little Italy Neighborhood Discussion
Was in little italy tonight. Great time, and a lot of people out walking and sitting at the patios. One thing that is annoying though is Club Corbos, and the Mayfield theater. Will anything ever happen to either of these places?! In an area that is extremely active, how aren't these places filled? Club Corbos seems to have one of the coolest patios in the city. And the christmas decorations on the Mayfield Theater are pathetic. Its June! Great night though, everyone appeared to be having a nice time. Its just aggravating to see to key buildings sit empty like that, and in that condition.

I have. I had a spicy chicken salad sandwich which was very good, and very filling, and fast service despite the line practically going out the door. "the Clevelander" sandwich is AMAZING! There is now a JB Mack, Mac and cheese kitchen- going on Euclid avenue under university lofts by csu. Looks good!! http://www.jbmack.com/index.html Thanks, I was wondering what was going to go in there. Looked like a food place when I passed it a month or so ago.

Awesome, thanks for the pictures.- Cleveland: Downtown: Jack Cleveland Casino - Phase 2
When was the last time someone called Cleveland a "Forward thinking city" though hahaha. I know not to expect much, but I think it should be demanded. Im sick of giving in to being mediocre.- Cleveland: Downtown: Jack Cleveland Casino - Phase 2
I think it could be time for a Phase 2 thread. One thing that I hope for phase 2 is that they build with the river in mind. Here is another extension to a possible boardwalk plan. http://goo.gl/maps/XT3j I think it would be a good idea to continue the boardwalk over there, and have the Casino be built along the boardwalk, with either retail or restaurants built in the casino facing outward along the boardwalk, with a casino entrance up to the gambling floors. The only issue is whether Sherwin Williams would allow a boardwalk to be built through their property. From the casino website: "As a truly urban casino, plans call for the development to include outward facing restaurants and retail to engage pedestrians and support existing cultural, nightlife and sports attractions downtown" Cleveland could have something really special if they decided to build a large boardwalk along the river. Starting at the eastbank and connecting it to the Casino as well as Rivergate park.- Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino

I havent really been paying attention to this, but why do we need two bridges in the first place?- Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino
LOL. Oh god! Ha!- Cleveland: University Circle: Centric Development (formerly Intesa)
Im hoping that second garage isnt included so that they can axe it and build something else, like apartments! Right next to University Circle/Uptown, Little Italy, and a new rapid station that takes you downtown! Who needs a car! - Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
