  1. So 12 of them have to be rented to people with $60,000 income. That leaves only 8 that can be sold to higher income people, so I do think they will go fast.
  2. Im all for the preservation of historic buildings, but not everyone can be saved, especially if it is preventing the development of a great project like this. For parking, no historic building should ever die. Besides that corner, the entire block is pretty blah, and the empty storefronts are surely not adding anything to downtown Pittsburgh. Nothing special here.
  3. I thought the rendering showed it as the same height as the building. Im not certain though.
  4. Looks like Cleveland State went with a "Viking Loop" to serve its campus and parking lots/garages. I saw them going around today. http://www.csuohio.edu/aboutcsu/CSU_VikingLoop_2012.pdf
  5. They have their whole basement to use still.
  6. ^ good response KJP, you should post it on Cleveland.com. I don't get where alot of his points come from because I don't see it and the stats don't back them up.
  7. I go through photobucket but it's still the extra step. But to make them smaller on Mac open the picture in preview then go to "Tools" then click on "adjust size"
  8. I always thought it would be a good idea to extend them to Ohio City. Ohio City group will replicate 'ambassadors' Ohio City Inc., the nonprofit community development group that supports its namesake neighborhood, is partnering with the Downtown Cleveland Alliance to clone the latter's successful “Clean & Safe” program as the West Side neighborhood prepares itself for a landmark year and a blossoming of the retail business district along West 25th Street and Lorain Avenue. Neighborhood property owners in Ohio City last year agreed to create a special improvement district, or SID, and assess themselves a fee to pay for a higher level of security and maintenance than the city of Cleveland provides. Ohio City Inc. will oversee the SID and contract with Downtown Cleveland Alliance to provide the kind of street cleanup, graffiti removal and visible security presence that has improved the image of downtown. “With the level of services they provide downtown, (the decision) was a no-brainer,” said Jeffrey Verespej, director of operations and advocacy at the Ohio City group. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20120305/SUB1/303059992
  9. ^ Correct. Where at StrapHanger?
  10. Nope! Good guess though
  11. You are right! haha. It crazy how good you guys are at this.
  12. ^Correct. Surprised you got that one so fast. 62 anybody?
  13. Well the B is out because of the parade route, but it would be awesome to use all the trolly buses and run the Eline at faster intervals.
  14. ^ I was going to say the same thing. The coffee shop that I believe kjp is talking about was that tiny walk in arabica. Noodlecat is in the wt grant building(something like that) in Teresa pizzas old space.
  15. A lockdown is issued when an intruder is in the building, or a student with a gun in this case. The teachers and students are advised to close and lock the door, turn off all lights, and sit in the safest corner of the classroom. Nobody is allowed to walk the halls or make any noise.
  16. Cleveland kids' fate rests in legislators' shaky hands: Brent Larkin When it comes to Cleveland's future, Mayor Frank Jackson's plan to save the schools isn't a matter of pass or perish. But it's awfully close. As Democrats and Republicans in the Ohio General Assembly begin to marshal their feeble excuses not to give Jackson the legislation he needs to implement his plan -- and they're already busy doing just that -- they should keep this in mind: A "no" vote is essentially a vote in favor of Cleveland's demise. It's a vote in favor of keeping Cleveland's children mired in a life of poverty. Jackson is hardly one prone to overstatement. Keep that in mind when considering what he told me last week: "I've never had an attitude that the city is just dying away. But if we do not do this, then I don't care what other positive things we do in this city. If we do not do this and begin to achieve educational excellence, Cleveland and this region is doomed." http://www.cleveland.com/opinion/index.ssf/2012/02/cleveland_kids_fate_rests_in_l.html
  17. I really don't like that rendering
  18. ^ That is pretty recent. Last few months I believe.
  19. I personally would never call this area "Downtown" But as crime being a factor, there was a homicide right next door earlier this month that might have scared a few, but I doubt this decision was that recent. And other than that one incident, that area appears to be safe based on crime statistics. And the only thing that really concerns them is the walk from the parking lot to the building. That smaller area is very safe, with only one crime, "theft from mv" happing in the past 3 months.
